Nice! Thanks for all the awsome websites to get more info about mining!! What is a cheap GPU setup to mine some coins?
Greets! Cool
That depends on which coin you want to mine. In general I guess that 1080gtx would be one of the  best choices. But at the moment prices are still too high, so I would not recommend getting new gpu. Also you should consider some of the older GPUs as well, because there are still some that are worthwhile checking.

Need help with the list of cheap coins one can mine using PC ?
Economically it is not profitable. Your income will be lower than the cost of electricity that you spend on computer power. Will you dig a pit for the Foundation of an apartment building with a shovel? Mining with a PC is as much a hopeless task.
Generally it is hopeless task, but not always. Depending which GPU s/he have in his or hers PC, mining with it could be profitable. Not as profitable as mining with ASIC, but still profitable.
Also, maybe OP wants to mine some "promising" coin so that s/he could sell them after longer period of time. Which at the end could be profitable also.
But you are right, one must know a lot of things, so the s/he could play their cards right and leave with a profit.

Take a look on this topic: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/hycon-mining-cpu-mining-good-profits-on-24-hours-using-simple-notebook-4409508
Its OP says that that coin is really profitable for mining. Coin is still new, so it could be truth.  But he had some issue with windows GPU mining tho, but none with CPU mining.

There aren’t really any tokens that are financially worthwhile to mine using an average PC, especially with only the CPU. At a minimum, it would require a couple of high-end GPUs, running 24/7, dedicated to mining. Average ROI for an entry-level rig is about 9 months, but it does improve as economies of scale are reached. But you can mine JSE Coin Cryptocurrency from your browser with no additional software.

what you do is good but also must pay attention to the laptop because it can be damaged if continuous mining.

which causes your laptop to get damaged:
- the laptop is not designed to run 24/7 even though you do not run like that.
- Overheat because the laptop has a small fan
- Drain the battery faster

what did you mean with "cheap" here? Its prices or some other thing related to diff / Global hashrate?

You should find expensive coins with less miner (low diff&nethash) that mine it for better profit. But hard to find it, need more effort. You can start it with follow a few links that provide on above comment.

I was actually thinking that cheaper coins has a lower hash rate compared to other popular expensive coins

What you want are those newly launched mineable coins which has a difficulty that wasn't already too high.

Exactly. When it coins reach those crypto calculator website you can already expect that those coins have already been MINED TO DEATH. Because imagine, why would the developers of those website post something so profitable? until at least they mine a good amount from it, they won't post it so quickly.

Using online calculators = too late.

A piece of advice: when mining, stop targeting the "cheap" coins which doesn't have what it takes to x2 or even x10 in the price.
You can easily buy them since they are cheap then hodl, same results.

What you want are those newly launched mineable coins which has a difficulty that wasn't already too high.
With a "normal" PC, the only option you got are the cheap old cryptonight coins but the algo had just exploited by ASICs.
Monero did a countermeasure, but you can't earn a considerable amount of XMR with that, try ETN but not now, wait until the "bad blocks" were mined.

Now, using those links above that they've given and with the help of google search, look for newly released or to be released CryptonightV7 coins.
Any new/under-development Monero (repo) fork will do.

You can also try this one https://www.coinwarz.com just put your hashrate and you will see the listed coins you can mine.
Honestly, its not worth it to mine with CPU I suggest that you buy your own GPU to mine other coins.

GPU/CPU minable coins by algorithm:

http://whattomine.com/coins

https://crypt0.zone/calculator

Cryptonight coins are probably the most profitable for CPU or older GPU's:
