I think that the market is in a stage of waiting . After Chinese new year , the market will go up
The chinese new year already had an effect on the market like few days back hence the dumping in prices..... So right now the market is just bouncing back and recovering
Since the markets are strong in Asia, will the New Years affect things?
The new year is going to affect things as those in Asian countries celeberating the new year will have to close in on most of their positions so as to enable them have Fiat to buy stuffs they will be needing for the ceremony. It's just like during thanksgiving as people will be selling their tokens for Fiat. 
I belive that these holidays will have influence on cryptocurrency price, price graph of last year shows a little dip in february. This will probably happen this year too.
I refuse to believe that Chinese New Year affects the market somehow. Of cource China is the huge part of the community, but it shouldn't influence the market so much. Don't pay much attention to FUD about it)
Chinese New Year aka Lunar New Year is not only celebrated by China. There are many countries that celebrate Chinese New Year such as Vietnam, Singapore, Malaysia, Korea and many others. I think it will affect the markets positively since people don't like to sell things on Chinese New Year but like to buy "Gold". Cryptocurrencies are digital gold.

The population of Asian countries is undoubtedly very large. However, the impact on the market recently decreased significantly. Today we are seeing the best prices for currencies during the last month. However, I do not think it's for long. But to see positive trends in the market is always pleasant.

Look at the previous years and you will find the answer. At every Chinese new year the price increased much higher and in this year we will also see the same result. You can see the result from today these are the affects of the Chinese new year which will be more prominent in the the next month. So the answer is that yes it will affect the price positively.

It is difficult to say, though going by past graph, The Chinese New Year which begins On 16th Feb, could have a major effect on crypto markets. Chinese and South Korean investors exchange their crypto holdings for fiat currency for the holiday to help fund Their new year spending. Every year since 2015, bitcoin has reduced value in Jan and gained in Feb.
I not sure if chinese new year effect the market because a few days before Chinese new year the market slowly began to improve. the price goes down because some countries ban crypto currency and a lot of people are afraid to invest and prefer to sell their coin, I think that's why the market are goes down.

when is chinese new year, tomorrow right? if influential, maybe from today or before the market has reacted, but what happened? the market is getting stronger and the average alt has gone up, so I conclude that chinese new year has no effect on the market.
I think we are already on a bull run. Everything has been going up for the past week and there where quite a few good news already.
