I also love playing chinese poker because it gives me a lot of excitement and thrill when i play especially on how the game works that you should build high wild cards on your deck for you to win. But i find chinese poker a difficult game for me because i am having some trouble for building wild cards on high scores on my deck. Anyways, i am now playing in online gambling site that has great bonuses and prizes that you should try and play it.
That is the reason why chinese poker is a great game and also gives me a thrill because you need to build high cards for you to win.
Yes you are right, but even i have some difficulties in the game of chinese poker i still love the game.

Sounds interesting. What could that be? Is it different from other kinds of poker or because it is located in China or it is a blockchain thing?
Thought gambling is not tolerated in China by the way.

Obviously, it's a variant of poker. Maybe it was originated from the China, hence "Chinese Poker". Maybe it was played underground on China in the beginning and just grow outside when some Chinese migrated somewhere else and bring the game with them.

^  Played in street corners?  Like craps (dice game)?  Lol.  What part of Asia are you in?

Anyway yeah...  I guess BTC is gonna be a hard sell on them too.
Of course, Philippines.  Grin. Yes, that is the problem, crypto is a hard sell for them, specially we/they are playing this game for so long that they don't want to adopt to this new technology.

Lol, that Chinese Poker is what we call "Pusoy" here in the Philippines. I learn that game like 30++ years ago, hahahaha, maybe mid 80's. And it was still as famous as today in the country as far as I know.

People here play that game either as past time or with big money involved, I'm glad that you enjoy and wanted to learn that game, but I guess for Filipino gamblers they are really very familiar with this game.  Grin. Most experts can really arrange which way (and as strong) as they wanted it to be, even by just looking at the cards at the beginning  Grin

Then I guess you should invite them to play at SWC:  https://play.swcpoker.eu

I know I sound like I'm shilling the site...  Bit just in case you guys wanna play some Chinese poker online and don't where, now you know.  Smiley

The people behind SWC version 3.0 have seriously done a great job.  There are kinks here and there but nothing major.

I used to promote their site as a participant in their signature campaign, so if there is one who's going to shill then it should be me  Grin, unfortunately it was just a short 4 week sig campaign.

Anyways, those guys are not interested, and those players literally wanted to hold the cards and play it around, not like a 'virtual' card.  Cheesy

^  Why don't you just show SWC to your Asian friends.  I mean it's pretty easy and there's no need to install anything.  Just use the browser play version.  It runs great on a decent computer.
I tried, but they are old school as s**t, man.  Grin. Usually this is played in the corner of the streets so I don't know if they are going to be interested in online games though. So it's going to be a hard sell on them.

I'm very familiar with Chinese poker since I've been also playing that game for so long now. But I wasn't aware that SwC have that. Might be interesting to play with others. For starters if will be complicated specially arranging the cards, it's very difficult but believed me once you master it is will be very easy. So I'm going to check it out and see how it goes.

I just checked at SWC to see how it goes there, but I cant find any active tables. It seems that this poker type is not really popular yet, or probably because it is a bit complicated to most poker players compared to Holdem or Omaha.
Probably it's mostly an Asian thingy that's why it's not that popular yet. I haven't yet check SwC, the last time I login there are a lot of active tables but didn't get the chance to see if they are playing the usual poker or this kind of variants. I don't think it's complicated for poker player, but probably a bit challenging in the beginning.

^  Banker/Dealer sounds like it's high variance for the banker.  Lol.

The way it's played on SWC is 'free for all' but it's not as simple as 'having the best hand wins'.  There's a point system involved.  Like when you make a straight flush at the bottom, there's added points or when you make AAx up top, etc...

After watching the video I realize that this game is called "Pusoy Way" in the Philippines. It is fun to play for starters but sometimes nerve can get up to if you can't win.

Two ways to play this game.

  • 1.Free for all- 4 players battle it out and who has the strongest card and manage to win against the 3 other player gets all the money in the pot.
  • 2. Dealer/Banker- One person will be the dealer and the 3 other people will bet against him and his cards.
-

If a person manages to win on every single aspect of the game like the top, middle and lower part of the card then that is called "pusoy" that means double pay.

^  By 'card counters', you mean poker players who compute equity and and EV on the fly during a hand?
Yep, in the open face method, it will become handy if one can predict what card will appear next for both for him and the opponents. Not just about creating the best combination of cards like in the closed/classic one.

Actually many card games were called Chinese Poker or derived from Poker. My favorite one is big two since it is really popular in SEA
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PouhpfTuYic

Sometimes people think this is the real Chinese Poker Grin

Holy crap guys! I'm a HUGE fan of Big Two (and yes, it's really big in my part of SEA but I had no idea there were other countries in my region playing it). I actually still prefer "Western" variations of poker, but here in SEA you find the girls really, really like Big Two (it's called Cho Tai Tee where I come from, Cantonese or Hokkien transliteration).

I sort of like Chinese poker, but it loses its thrill for me after a while. Big Two is still probably very tactical comparatively. And nobody around me likes it, but it's really good fun too for a few rounds.

I actually have contributed these two ideas plus other games (ever played "Red Eye" or Ang Tiam, for example?). The local variations of Black Jack are also extremely exciting, because of the power of the dealer, plus the ability to sort of use poker tactics in BJ. I guess it works differently online though.

@tokeweed I actually don't really play poker but I'm really tempted now to check out those versions, had no idea SwC had them!

Gotta start a proper thread I think some day tokes, for non-classic Western gambling card games.

^  Lol.  Uh no...  The joker isn't played.  And it's not actually that complicated.  I'm finally getting the hang of it after some practice.  Smiley

It's actually quite easy, tho the scoring is really complicated.  But the site handles all of it, so your only goal is to make the best three hands possible out of your cards.

I agreed with this poker site, as far as I know, it is very cool.

I find the Chinese poker as a very complicated game and the phase of the game is too fast. Creating 3 hands to compare with 3 other hands isn't bad though. 13 cards are also enough for each player and I think joker is one of the highest and strongest cards. Chinese poker is very cool and fun tho.

I don't think it's easy for me since I am not familiar with the card game Grin
I watch the video, but unfortunately, I don't understand how to score the card Huh
It still confuses me to know how to play the game.
I am only interested with the chip on the table hahaha Grin
