New poll shows the majority of Trump voters (mostly christians) think Christians are more discriminated against than Jews or Muslims...
(note: nobody even asked if Atheists were discriminated against... just saying)

Wow... just wow... how deluded can you be?

How exactly are christians being discriminated against?  Are they forced to bake a cake for a gay wedding? No... Are they forced to have abortions? No... Are they a minority? No...

In a country of 80% christians... they still think they are being discriminated against?!?  CHRISTIANS HOLD ALL POWER IN GOVERNMENT AND WRITE ALL THE LAWS!!!

WTF?!?!?!?

Why do christians have such a victim complex?

Christian definitely are not discriminated today. It's the muslims now with all the recent terrorist attacks. I think it's really unfair that Muslims today are outcasted and disrespected and dubbed as terrorists by the same Christians that feel that they're the victims.

I agree with the sentiment however I think it is also not fair that we are pointing all our fingers to christianity. Everything jas been pitted against christianity and yes there are flaws in every religion I think that each and wveryone has their own black history and I think that we should focus on our ewuality rather than converge who is better

There are more than 100 Christian majority nations around the world and yet they think that they are the most persecuted religious group? This is ridiculous. In my country, they make up around 4% of the population. But their power and influence far exceeds their numbers, and they are the ones who discriminates against the Hindus here.
In reality they are the most persecuted group because i hardly find any Christian group carrying guns and knives slitting the throats of muslims and other Christians just because they don't want to join their religion.

Well... there are plenty of such Christian groups here in India. The most well known among them is the NSCN of Nagaland and Arunachal Pradesh. They regularly massacre tribal Hindus for their refusal to convert to Christianity. Another group is the NLFT of Tripura, which is well known for converting Hindus at gunpoint and assassinating those who refuse the gospel.

The only book where Christianity comes from is the Bible. The Bible never tells Christians to do violence like you are speaking about. The only time a Christian might be allowed to do violence is for self or family protection.

This is the opposite of Islam. The Koran of Islam tells Muslims to do violence to others if they won't convert. But most Muslims are non-violent even when others don't convert. So, are they really Muslims, since they don't follow the orders of their religious book?

In a similar way, are these Christians who do violence against the orders of the Bible really Christian? Or are they only using the name of Christianity? If they are not simply on the defensive when they are attacked by others, then they are not really Christian, but are liars when they say they are Christians.

Cool

Actually religion is not an issue but some people misunderstood what it is all about. Whatever religion we have, the important is are we really have a relationship with God? That is the question.

Lol i find that hard to believe as well and that's coming from a christian here. We pretty much are given free rein over a lot of things. The head of the church holds power even more than the president of the us. I'm not sure what these christians are thinking feeling persecuted at this time and age

This topic got very bad. We have people straight up generalizing an entire religion following as dicks. And we have people screaming at people about how could they believe in something that obviously had no logic behind it in the first place, let it go man, you can't reason with something like that, it takes like 5 minutes at most to become atheist, but that is only if you are willing to doubt, otherwise you couldn't force it with a crowbar. If they ever get guts to face it, they will be atheist, that is all, you can't make them, they just close down even more.

You should all chill. There are millions of political and religion opinions, but people want to be in a group so they join them while still all believing in something very different. No two Trump or Hilary supporters are alike, no two Muslims or Christians are alike, they are all wrong for different reasons, but they really want to belong so there you go, it is natural to group together.

There is zero evidence that "Jesus" ever existed... even as a normal person, non-god

The guy was a carpenter for 30 years and not a single person saved a table/desk/chair/door or anything made by Jesus?!?

Not a single person wrote about Jesus within 30 years of his death... not one... zero contemporary historians wrote about Jesus... zero eye-witnesses wrote about Jesus... many of the writings containing the name Jesus have been proven forgeries (ex. Flavius Josephus' Testimonium has an added paragraph about Jesus around 300AD... 200+ years after it was written... obvious forgery)

There have been books written by well-educated scholars disputing the historicity of this Jesus character (i.e., claiming he never existed)
https://www.amazon.com/On the Historicity of Jesus: Why We Might Have Reason for Doubt
I mean... 700 pages... pretty much proving Jesus never existed (as well as you can prove a negative like "god doesn't exist")

I obviousely can't read the whole book, but as far as I can see the description, the author doesn't claim to have proven that Jesus has never excisted, but tells that we need more evidence before we can accept that he really excisted.

Also, most people who have knowledge in this area, agree that the historicity of Jesus is 'effectively certain'. Read this on a.o. Wikipedia. I know Wikipedia is not a good source on itself, but that site has some great references as well.

For example: Michael Grant (a classicist) states that
Quote
In recent years, 'no serious scholar has ventured to postulate the non historicity of Jesus, or at any rate very few, and they have not succeeded in disposing of the much stronger, indeed very abundant, evidence to the contrary

FYI, Wikipedia is the most accurate source of encyclopedic information on the planet... there is no better source for accurate information... only a complete idiot trash-talks Wikipedia (for some reason 100% of Wikipedia haters are Christians... coincidence?... perhaps you simply hate science and truth, not Wikipedia itself?)

Perhaps if you spent more time reading Wikipedia, you could spell words properly... seriously, 3 spelling errors in your first sentence?

As I already stated, there IS ZERO NON-BIBLICAL EVIDENCE FOR JESUS

There is NONE... PERIOD

If you have some evidence, link a source

The lack of evidence implies non-existence...

There is no evidence for unicorns, because they don't exist
There is no evidence for leprechauns, because they don't exist
There is no evidence for gremlins, because they don't exist
There is no evidence for faeries, because they don't exist
There is no evidence for Jesus, because he didn't exist

Please take a look at this website: https://www.biblicalarchaeology.org/daily/people-cultures-in-the-bible/jesus-historical-jesus/did-jesus-exist/

Even if no one wrote about him (which is not the case), that still wouldn't proof the idea that Jesus didn't exist.

Ok, I've explained this twice already, so I'll do it one last time

You cannot prove Jesus didn't exist

You cannot prove ANYTHING doesn't exist

Can you prove there is not an invisible pink unicorn floating over your house?
No... you CANT

How could anyone possibly prove that Jesus never existed?  This is not something that can be "proven"... but, as I stated, THE LACK OF EVIDENCE SPEAKS FOR ITSELF... ZERO EVIDENCE IMPLIES NON-EXISTENCE!!! (just like leprechauns, faeries, etc)

Just because a book mentions unicorns, or leprechauns, or some guy named Jesus... doesn't mean they exist... you must PROVE they exist... it is not up to me to prove they DONT exist, that's stupid (and impossible)

Lastly, I am familiar with christian "sources"... according to your link:
"Tacitus’s last major work, titled Annals, written c. 116–117 C.E"
Ok... so Jesus supposedly died in 33AD, and this was written 83 years later... ...
Do you think this person was an eye-witness to Jesus?
How old was he when he met Jesus, 30? (83 years + 30 = 113 years old)
How well do you remember events that happened 83 years ago?

As far as I'm concerned... if nobody wrote about Jesus within 5 years of his death... it's all bullshit make-believe fairy-tales
How do you have so many quotes from Jesus if the earliest gospel was written 40 years after Jesus died?
Can you really remember quotes, word for word... 40-100 years later?!?!? (I can barely remember what people told me last week!)

2017?
That is such a weird number, I wonder where we got it from. Was it 2017 years since Earth existed, since humans existed, since we figured out medicine or agriculture?

It's the number of years since their christian god was born.

2000 years later, we know no such god ever existed.  But what do we do?  Change the year?
Don't want to go off topic here, but there was a guy who lived 2000 years ago, who was in fact Jesus from Nazareth, so '2017 after Christ' is still corect (since Jesus is also called Christ).

Now wheter or not he was a God, is a different matter.

Well.. 54% is a tiny majority, but if they are Trump supporters that explains everything. What always surprises me with these religions is, if your God is so wonderful, why is there so much suffering in the world? Why would you want to believe in and follow such a hateful entity? It makes little sense, if there was a God, surely they would spread love and happiness to everything?

What about the 77% of the Hillary voters who think that Muslims are the most persecuted group? 99.99% of the religion-based terrorism is of Islamic nature, and even then these guys claims that Muslims are discriminated against?

Well, Muslims are the most persecuted group on the planet... except for perhaps Jews, but they are dicks... look at what the Jews are doing to Palestinians in the Gaza strip... 1 hour of electricity per day?!?  wtf is that shit?!?

You are simply wrong claiming 99% of terrorism is Islamic... it's not... according to the FBI, there are WAY more right-wing terror attacks in America than attacks from Islamists...
Most Terrorists in the U.S. Are Right Wing, Not Muslim: Report
http://www.pbs.org/newshour/bb/u-s-sees-300-violent-attacks-inspired-far-right-every-year/
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Right-wing_terrorism

This is a proven fact... more attacks are done by right-wing Christians in America than Muslims... things like bombing abortion clinics... that's a christian, not a muslim

Part of the problem is, not all of them are reported as terror attacks... a Nazi ran 20 people over with his car in Charlottesville, and NOBODY is calling it terrorism... but a Muslim did the exact same thing in Barcelona, and everyone calls it terrorism

I don't like religions in general but no religion is as full of shit as Islam. Whoever believes in that is mentally still in the Dark Ages.

I specialize in "religions full of shit" Cheesy Could you reference something special about Islam that is so stupid/weird/bad/controversial? I kind of like to keep a list...

I wouldn't be so sure about islamic terrorism. You have to understand that Islam existed for a very long time, but terrorism became huge in last couple of decades. Also you don't really hear of much terrorism in Vatican or even Italy as much as in USA,UK,France,Sweden,Germany...Those are big NATO countries and there are many countries invaded by NATO in last decades, it happens that those countries are Muslim majority ones. So this could be like a Muslim ban thing, when counties that ware deemed dangerous from the previous administration and many of whom USA is in war with got restricted access to USA, they say it is because of them being Muslims, but when they go to war that it is not because of them being Muslims.

It is all just money, always was. Those unfortunate people think they are being attacked by some Christians, like it is another Crusade, just because of their religion, being unaware that it is just because they ware born with oil under their feet. So when their wife and kids get blown up, they have nothing to lose and go and try to get their voices heard by a terrorism attack. Life is cheap when they take everything from you and you turn to God as a last resort to see your family again. You are forgetting that more then 2 million innocent people died in these wars, just for US army to claim that they maybe took down couple of tens of thousands unconfirmed terrorists and their family members. Many people lost their families and houses in that war and many are Muslims. I don't think there is anything surprising when you have people screaming their Gods name while blowing themselves up. How would you feel if someone takes everything from you and doesn't care about you. What would you do? Don't you think that someone in that position would turn to God and revenge?
