Christmas Auction Rules and 'What Ifs'I shall try to address many concerns and/or questions but it is impossible to address them all. The rules are not in any specific order. Just covering them as I think of them.
This is a No Reserve BTC Only Auction that will start on December 3, 2011 at 8 pm EST which is UTC -5. It will be held on the Freenode IRC channel: #bitcoin-auction
The Winning Bidder will send the BTC to:
>
1Gdc8pDDemYFr5zTRs4bwNsVurF8dSxZHw <
This address has been sent by me to Theymos with a gpg signature. The Winner of an Item will be told of the Winning bid in the channel, but confirmation of the win will not take place until 6 confirmations have occurred. The address will also be in the Topic on the Channel.
1.
All items won by the winning bidder will be shipped for free in the lower contiguous United States. If you want the item shipped outside of this area, the shipping will be added to your bid. Whether this make sense for you to do depends on the Bid (ie. if you Win with a bid on a $99 item with 0.2 BTC, it might make sense for you to do.
2.
There is no requirement for GPG Registration. If you have the BTC, you can Bid. However, it might be beneficial for you to be Registered, just in case of a timeout… If you are not registered, the auction will be going off of the Freenode Nick alone…
If you wish to protect from this, you can send me a PM with Challenge Response Key. (ie. /msg BTC_Bear My secret is 1234) or something. That way, if you timeout and someone takes your nick, I can confirm with the Key)
3.
Bids on items will start at 0.01 BTC and must have an increment of at least 0.01 BTC.
4.
Decorum Please - agitators and trolls will be kicked.
5.
If I timeout or go offline, I will ask an OP to continue the auction following the rules set here.
6.
Items to be shipped will be shipped on Monday December 5, 2011 via USPS. I will provide a tracking code to the winner of the Item. If a dispute arises, I will post the tracking code on the forum. I will adhere to any decision of said dispute by the #bitcoin-court judges, myself being recused.
7.
Win the auction is closed and 6 confirmations received, I will send 1/2 of the BTC to
https://bitcointalk.org/donate.html 8.
The other 1/2 have will be sent by USPS Money Order to:[/li][/list]
Toys for Tots
Gift Processing Administrator
18251 Quantico Gateway Drive
Triangle, VA 22172
with instructions for the funds to goto: $RandomKid from the BitCoin Community Merry Xmas
I will post the Tracking Information of the USPS Money Order on the forum for people to follow.
9.
Once an Item is up, the final bid on a item will wait 1 minute before the announcement that he is the winning bidder. Just to give other a chance to contemplate if they want to up the bid.
10.
Substitutions of an Item for a greater or same value of the item of the same description and characteristic may be necessary. Basically, BestBuy tells me they have them and are ready, but when I show up to collect them they don't have it, I will substitute it with a similar item for equal or greater value but not lessor value. If this happens, I will drop ship it direct from BestBuy to the address provide by the Winning Bidder. I don't anticipate this however, but just covering the bases.
11.
I am sure that their are things not covered. If time permits, ask them in the #bitcoin channels and I will try to amend them here… else if any disputes arise that are not covered here, I will adhere to a #bitcoin-court decision from the judges, again myself recused.
If anyone wants to just Donate just go ahead and send BTC to the above address. The same distribution will occur. If a large sum is donated that I can not cover immediately, I will wait until the BTC is converted from an exchange.
Best Regards,
BTC_Bear
