BTW jonesd you are doing a great job please do not go away like the last dev. LOL I just doubled down on QB.

Not planning on it! Smiley I am working on a larger initiative to revive other old coins as well: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/closed-576714. This way, the survival will depend on a group of people and not some guy that lives in the attic of his grandma Tongue

Cryptorush.in ate all my coins.

The site should be back really soon. Most of the coding has been complete. As of yesterday they where waiting for one more thing and then will be relaunching. Make sure you read the debt management plan. Once the site is up and running smoothly the QB wallet will be updated so you will be able to get your coins for any wallet that is not insolvent.

It would really restore the faith of people if you would actually be able to get your QB back! I read your plan and I hope you will be successful (lost some coins myself there). My main worry with exchanges in general is the costs involved in securing so much money. We're still in the Wild West at the moment...

We do what we can, cold storage, auditing etc, but there is only so much you can do against attacks. You can have a security team that has a salary total of over 2million and still an attacker can find a way in.  The only thing you can do is kill the attack at a point where you are able to recover, aka small losses but the attack was stopped before it was all emptied.  This is a good reason for cold storage etc, but then you still risk losing the hot wallet balances.

The places like cryptsy and mintpal who are really rolling in the cash, hopefully, are beefing up their security teams etc.  The small guys like me can only do what we can until we can afford to hire more staff.   We have a new site design releasing soon, hopefully this helps drive more traffic, as of this time we are not profitable so its a huge risk for us to continue service months on end if we are operating at a loss Sad

We'll continue to do all we can to keep stuff secure though Smiley

You can add my p2pool IP to quarkbar.conf

Code:
addnode=23.226.130.190

it using latest daemon:
Code:

    "protocolversion" : 70002,
    "walletversion" : 60000,

Hi,

Bad news...

We spoke to our datacenter and we seem to have some hardware failures somewhere.
All mined coins are safe. We're working on getting the servers back online ASAP.

I had a feeling something happened to your servers. It would explain the sync problems.

Jonesd if your still fully synced you should put a list of peers together for others to add as nodes.

I'm succesfully connected to these nodes:
162.243.248.229:31616
66.172.10.61:31616

You can add them manually by going to help> debug window > console tab and write:
addnode=162.243.248.229:31616 add

and then {enter} to add it

Then write:
addnode=66.172.10.61:31616 add

Hope this will fix it!

When I updated my wallet I did not have to delete anything. I downloaded the new wallet and replaced the .exe file with it and it all worked great. You may have to add stuff back into the app data folder.

Always difficult these things from afar Smiley

A firewall blocking connections is possibly most likely

hello the windows wallet has a problem??

"version" : 80401,
"protocolversion" : 70002,
"walletversion" : 60000

it has stop  at current number of blocks  205547

and last block time   Wed Apr 30 23:49:39 2014

thank you

Not as far as I can see. Maybe you could try to do the following:
1. Download new wallet: https://mega.co.nz/#!cIxD0D5K!ZwTTSbyGyTMT9tFWs_i1Ic2MmfFV77aQPLPMRRQaulA
2. Close old wallet.
3. You should go to this folder on your main drive: users\(your_username)\appdata\roaming\quarkbar\
4. In this folder, delete all the files except the wallet.dat and the quarkbar.conf. (if conf file not there, that's not a problem)
5. Start the new wallet and let it synch

I did everything you told me! but now begin to synch

Okay, looking at the difficuty it shows, I have suspicion you're on the old chain. What you have to do is go to a hidden windows folder (enable "show hidden folders" in windows).
1. Go to your main drive (C:?),
2. Go to folder "users"
3. Open the folder with your username
4. Open folder "appdata"
5. Open folder "roaming"
6. Open folder "quarkbar"
7. Delete everything except "wallet.dat"
8. Restart the wallet
9. It should start from block 0 and synch (hopefully)

Another option is that you have a firewall blocking the connection, but for that you have to add the wallet as an exception.

How do I know if I have to correct wallet update?

You can check it like this:
1. Open wallet
2. Go to help tab and open debug window
3. Go to console tab
4. Type
Code:
getinfo
5 You will get information like this:
Code:
"version" : 80401,
"protocolversion" : 70002,
"walletversion" : 60000,
"balance" : ...,
"blocks" : 204955,

"connections" : 4,
"proxy" : "",
"difficulty" : 28.78119242,
"testnet" : false,
"keypoololdest" : 1395692333,
"keypoolsize" : 100,
"paytxfee" : 0.00000000,
"unlocked_until" : 0,
"errors" : ""
6. Check if your version number and walletversion are the same as above.
7. If not. Install the latest version Cheesy

Thanks looks like I have to update. When I click the wallet zip link you guys posted it just takes me to a search engine.

That site seems to be down. Here's another link: https://mega.co.nz/#!cIxD0D5K!ZwTTSbyGyTMT9tFWs_i1Ic2MmfFV77aQPLPMRRQaulA

"version" : 80401,

My wallet is still getting blocks and is currently at 207557.

Yesterday I put the wallet under another link, so that might explain the version?

Edit: it does not. I am getting the same when I get the windos wallet via the link.

I'll look into it
