I'm really new to this PoS thing... Just opened my wallet and got more coins so I thought I'd pay more attention...
Question: do I have to leave my wallet open/ unlocked and my computer on to 'stake' for more coins? Or will it stake automatically? Also should I be expecting payouts daily or is it more irregular than that?

I encrypt my wallet with a pass-phrase and then unlock it for staking. Careful not to forget this phrase or you up the creek. I find most are irregular but some what regular to contradict myself. I have had three mining payouts today so far. Some of my other coins are days.
Thanks will leave my wallet unlocked for staking for a few days and see what happens.

lol my wallet has been open since i got home from work a couple hours ago. this whole time the "estimated time to stake" is about 2 seconds, haha!

But... I am not staking because I don't have mature coins
What you mean you are receiving mined coins but not staking? Your wallet is already staking if you received new mined coins. But it will take 60 confirmations to get your balance back from stake. All my balance is in Stake

You are not staking because the coins you used to stake has been burned to make a block which contains your reward.All my balance is in Stake

The burned coins will show as stake.

Question? Do the coins need to mature again after being mined once. I noticed my wallet says not mature. Weird as I have not touched them.
After staking your coins get burned to make a block which has a higher reward for you then you wait for that block to mature. Jump to:
