I hope this is a good place to ask this question, but I am just doing this as a hobby, and have just got some ASIC's set up, one BFL Jalepeno, and 2 Antminer U1's, I know its fairly small at the moment, but would like to hear what you guys thing would be good hardware to start picking up.
Right now I am thinking more Antminer's as the BFL's seem over priced for the rate it pulls. But just started reading about the Gridspeed infinity USB but not sure I know how those are set up/powered. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Just started mining on ScyptGuild. Have no idea what I'm doing but it appears to be working. 
Site looks great so far, with lots of goodies in the pipeline. Cheers to eleuthria for another great piece of work!

With the U1 also at 1.6GH/s, I'm confused. The U2 is also being promoted with a speed of 1.6GH/s, only with a giant heat sink that will limit the number you can fit onto a hub.
The Gridseed Infinity Mini is a better value than the Gridseed USB sticks. Zoomhash is selling them for $250. They're $310ish on Ebay. Zoomhash is a small company out of L.A., FWIW. As supply picks up, I imagine the price will fall fairly swiftly. I'm hoping Jonesgear picks them up, as their prices are usually quite reasonable.
As I was typing this, Zoomhash just sent me a shipping confirmation notice. This is the first time I've done business with them, and I've been pleased so far.

Those dualminers are pretty cool little things. I've been tempted to get a few since my old gaming rig (now mining rig) isn't exactly stable sitting in my garage, especially as temperatures heat up. Too bad they're *WAY* overpriced due to being a dual purpose chip.
Yeah, they get only a little tiny bit less expensive buying in bulk too...The asicminer U2s are out. 15BTC for a box of 500... .03 BTC each, plus some profit, plus shipping...

Just wanted to drop in and say HI, this is my first 24 hours in the pool, and am really happy I finally bailed on Slush, I started there back in 2011 and its been a horrible place to be the last year.
I am only a hobby miner, but still a nice pool that has let me earn twice what I did at Slush's pool in 1/3rd the time.
Heres to hopefully many profitable times to come.

There really are not many SHA coins of worth to add merged mining are there.
I had been looking recently just to see if it would be worth pointing my old 33 mhz'z towards another coin before I sell them and it seemed a wasteland while there were plenty of scrypt coins that you could make some profit with on older GPU's.
That's really too bad as there is a ton of older mining gear that people could put to use if there were.
I just keep it all pointed at BTCGuild, nothing else makes sense.
DVC and IXC are worthless junk that would just clutter up the database for a fraction of a percent. I'm not convinced that the gains (less than 0.1%) would make up for the extra bandwidth and slight increase in LP times as a result of that bandwidth/processing time.

Thanks. Some fun news should be posted tonight or tomorrow. The last 24 hours have seen some profit algorithm improvements that put ScryptGuild, and a big boost to efficiency is expected next (preventing double-switching, without giving up the instantaneous profit switching). I've already observed clear evidence in the logs showing that one of the changes last night has put ScryptGuild in the lead when it comes to the time of switching. We're almost always the first to nab the newest profitable block before any other pools join the party because they're doing something wrong

I've been using Bitmain Antminer for a while now. Soon they will be on eBay and I will be itching for next gen hardware.

Unless your miner is logging it, no. BTC Guild doesn't associate the user with the specific block that was solved, just that the user solved a block.
Update:
A fellow board member (kano) seems to have solved this by doing some maths on the block hash (and my share) here:
