Too expensive compared to a BFL single 60GHs for about $1500 roughly.

On another note: Can someone tell me why one of my transactions is sitting on blockchain with estimated confirmation in 24 hours? Is this something to do with that address re-use crap that people are screaming about?

Yes...ASICMINER has been impossible to communicate with lately.  I still haven't even been given a price, let alone order.

Look at those huge waves of pool luck for couple of days. Did difficulty change?

Just increased to 606million.

M
That doesn't sound like a big jump.

98,000,000 is a fairly big number where I'm from.

Compared to previous jumps, that is.

I'm not complaining about diff increase for a change.

It's all relative.  When we've been stuffing elephants into the room every few days for the past few months, a hippo doesn't look all that big.

Heh...

Am im doing something wrong?
Have been mining BTC at your pool for quite some time now, but namecoin account ---> zero.

Im connected at this server: eu-stratum.btcguild.com:3333
Do you have an other one for merge mining? Cant find information about it on site. Undecided

Are you set for PPS or PPLNS?  Merged mining is only with PPLNS.

Ah, thats explains it. im on pps

Personal text my ass....
Is having no rewards at all normal? I've been connected and mining for over 36 hours now.

Looks like your miner stopped recently.  Did you switch to a backup pool, or did you switch to PPS?

It was switched to PPS temporarily. I thought I would have a reward no matter what with PPS. As it says, "The PPS method offers the lowest possible variance of any pool payment system. With PPS, you are paid a guaranteed rate for every valid share you submit. ". I've submitted many shares, but never received any rewards for them while on PPS. Unless I'm not understanding it. I'm aware the reward could be very low...but seeing no reward at all is what prompted me to ask the question. I was using PPS for about 36 hours or more.

HD wallets will likely be available in the 0.9 Bitcoin client.

Which will be released when?

Why do so many people like getting the cart in front of the horse so often?

Even the the lead devs can't answer that, I think they just make a carefully judged decision that no further testing can be usefully done on a small scale, and so put the RC out.

Sorry if I'm offending your sensibilities, I am indeed trying to raise awareness of the issue way ahead of time. I don't think it would be such a great outcome if lots of the pertinent issues became relevant all at once, and people begin to panic.

Better that there is widespread understanding of important change well in advance of it occurring.

Slush's pool website needs a major overhaul. Looks like things I did with Microsoft Frontpage in the late 90's.

Support the discouraging of address re-use.

The exchange rate value of everyone's Bitcoins depends on killing the lists. Including you, me, eluthria, and everyone mining, pooled, decentrally or solo.

eluthria, please consider using the address re-use de-prioritising mining node. This will be a step along the way to preventing the public blockchain record from being used against us to devalue our Bitcoins.

Everyone at BTC Guild should familiarise themselves with the forthcoming HD wallets feature, keychains. You can create as many keychains as you wish, just like single addresses. This will let you lock reward payments to a sequence of crytographically determined keychain addresses instead of one address. It is a superior alternative to locking to a static address, you can gain more privacy with the same level of security.

HD wallets will likely be available in the 0.9 Bitcoin client.
