The previous warning regarding CSV exports is no longer applicable.  The new "lite" site will still have this capability.  However, it is still recommended that users utilize the CSV export feature for their own tax/accounting records.  Once the "lite" version of the site goes down, this information will no longer be available to you.

EDIT:  Added CSV export options to the Dashboard page so it's more obvious (used to be on Settings page).

Thanks for the great service and keeping everyone up to date with what is going on with the server.  I mined at the guild for almost a year and it was a good time.

I just deleted 1.3 million accounts from the database.  These accounts all had *zero* earnings during their entire history at BTC Guild, either because they never mined at all, had only submitted bad shares (trying to run a scrypt miner on a BTC pool), or had only mined during shifts that had not found any blocks.

EDIT:

Just to clairfy:  Only accounts that had never earned even 0.0000001 BTC were deleted.  If the account earned a single satoshi in its lifetime, it is still present in the database even if the full balance has been withdrawn.

The pool website is undergoing some modifications to create a "lite" version that can be used to continue facilitating withdrawals after the servers are pulled.  Withdrawals may be paused occasionally during this process, but they will be queued and sent out within 24 hours (though most likely they'll still go out every 6 hours).

Namecoin has been completely removed from the site at this time, no more withdrawals will be processed.

If you have not downloaded a CSV export of your BTC earnings/withdrawals, you should do so within the next 72 hours.  The "lite" version of the site will not have your complete history available, only a snapshot of total earned, total paid, and balance owed.  Accounts with no balances owed will be completely removed from the "lite" version of the site.

The servers are being pulled from colocation in about a week.  I'll be creating an even more stripped down version of the site for continuing to handle withdrawals.  Currently withdrawal requests are processed every 6 hours.  After the servers are pulled, they will only be processed manually every few days.

Learning the troll avoidance button :)
A few larger NMC withdrawals got hung up because the hot wallet ran out.  It will be refilled tonight and the withdrawals that failed will be re-processed.

Obviously, the 9/30/15 original shutoff date is being extended because of how many people decided to wait until September 20th+ to log into their accounts.  The exact length of extension hasn't been determined yet.

I rarely mined your pool, but it was a good experience when I did. But this is beyond the pale. How do you live with yourself? You're supposed to scam them damn coins and tell everyone to piss off!

Humour aside, everyone should take note of this. This, ladies and gentlemen, is how you close a business if you must. Eleuthria, you are a gentelman and a scholar.

Indeed eleuthria good job and in microchange he will always have my 0.00003682 satoshis that the pool will keep forever so he will get a tiny tiny bit of dust from users there over time well below min withdrawal Tongue
I do appreciate the nice blurb on the page
You have had over 115 days notice to withdraw your balance.
Withdraw your balance now or it will be kept by the pool when the servers are removed.

Crypto is the separation of Power and State.
Closing in on the September 30th close date.  Since there is still a continuous trickle of withdrawals (10-20 per day), it is likely this date will be extended.  There will be a temporary placeholder when the servers are pulled in early October out of colocation.  A new withdrawal-only version of the site will be setup to continue allowing withdrawals.  Accounts that had not been emptied by September 30th will have a fee deducted to cover the cost of continuing to run servers for a service that has not been active for over 100 days.

Is there another pool that has been closed as professionally as this one has? A clear mining close date, a website close date,  continuous updates from eleuthria |(even though the pool is no longer running and no one's paying him to do this), best efforts made to ensure previous miners are able to withdraw their cash.

I hope eleuthria's actions are used as a text book next time some one wants to close a pool (I'm looking at *you* DeepBit).

Even in death, BTCGuild sets the standard for best practices.   Cool

Just because people have asked me a few times due to my involvement in mining over the last 4 years:

I think we MUST have larger blocks implemented in under a year.
I do NOT think BIP 101 is the right choice due to rate of increase being absurd.
If forced to pick today, BIP 100 is the best choice at this time.

However, if BIP 100 is implemented, conversations should begin IMMEDIATELY in terms of planning how to increase the max block size again down the road, to come up with a solution to allow organic growth that doesn't put all the power in the hands of a few massive mining farms.  If BIP 100 happens, it should not mean we stop talking about block size.
Thank you for posting your views.  I agree with this, and hope this is the consensus at the end of the day.  We will eventually need an increase in block size as you stated just not as abruptly as BIP101 recommends.

thanks for the longer reply via edit, that is more your style.

It really is...for some reason I treat the Bitcointalk forums like IRC/real time chat and end up posting the initial thought and editing it to complete it.

LOL.

I tend to write a few words or a damn book on here. Not much in between.
