So when can we order?

As of right now, the hubs are available in the store.  I have slightly modified it to be available for orders of 40 Erupters, since it's a bit mean to include a 49-port hub for 50 miners Smiley.  I figure there should be enough orders that either don't order enough for a hub, or pass on the hub, to make up for the fact that I only receive 1 hub per 50 units.

When will the hub be available for the rest of us?  I have like 40 miners and I didn't buy them all from you.. I know that isn't your fault but why not make them available to all first come first server just like the Erupters were sold as (or anything else in the world for that matter?)

Naelr

Right now I'm not able to order hubs separately from ASICMINER, they are sold together with erupters.  As a result, I don't want to sell them separately until I've sold enough of the erupters in smaller batches to guarantee anybody ordering a large quantity has had a chance to get a hub.

Once the first burst of orders dies down, I will eventually update the checkout to offer hubs at a large base price, but with a discount for each erupter ordered with it.

Looking forward to when I can order the hub with a lesser number of BE's since I already have a batch that I want to free up my other hubs for other uses.

Also what did you find out about the power requirements?  How beefy of a Power Supply do we need?  I have some older P/S's from my pre GPU days that I would like to use.

Thanks,
Sam

couple questions:
1) still Monday before available at ASIC store on the site?

2) would you consider any possibility of discount or credits toward the 50 usb miners (most recent orders only, like in past week?)+ hub for "hub included with purchase of 50 miners"? Trying to get an even number Tongue.

The first batch of hubs will only be available bundled with miners.  I have enough hubs to include with the remaining inventory.  As the USB inventory is sold, I will make the hubs available on the store as separate purchases.  I need to keep at least a 1:50 ratio with my erupter inventory to make sure anybody placing an order is able to get one.

I thought ASICminer was stopping production of block erupters, why would the bother to make a hub for them now? Huh

Next generation?  It's still unclear if Gen2 USBs will come out this year, they mentioned significant problems with the original production, but the design was finalized I believe.  They supposedly have Gen3 (28nm) coming out early 2014.

Mining for the hell of it.

Well after browsing around it is using the 24 pin from a power supply so i think it should be fine.

That's a poor assumption and a poor understanding of eleuthria's concerns.  I share his concern.

The only reason why i was saying it is because ASICminer made it FOR the block Erupters... Kinda maid for them SO yea.. Cool

Double your Personal Bitcoin Funds.
I want this, today! You list, I buy.

I see one problem being 24 pin atx connector means only one hub per PSU. Multiple molex or blade style screw connector would make it more expandable.

hmmmm...hub is tempting, but will it work with a Raspberry Pi?

Cool have you figured out a price for just the hub?

Will be listing them tomorrow.  I'm waiting on one response from friedcat RE: which rail this pulls off of the PSU from.  If it's pulling off 5v, I'm a bit concerned about how few PSUs can actually power all 49 ports at once since very few ATX PSUs will give more than 15 or 20A to the 5v rail.

Come to think about it. I am sure that the creation of it that was already in the thought process. So I am sure that all is good.

BTCGuild site down or its just me?

Cloudflare is having some problems in the EU.  I'm assuming you're probably getting routed to their EU servers and it's failing?  The outage should only be affecting website traffic, mining traffic should be working fine.
