I keep getting switched to "[removed]" when i try to connect to 'stratnum.btcguild.com'.

This is expected behavior.  The domain is still btcguild.com, and as such is still safe.  This is one of the many things that have been put into place to keep miners online during DDoS attacks.  If 'stratum.btcguild.com' goes down, miners who have been redirected should remain online.

That makes sense. I just power-cycled all my miners giving them full 15 minutes of power-off time. Now I'm back and see pool speed just jumped to massive 607TH. My submitted work is even lesser, so makes sense. Thanks for the explanation.

I see. Higher pool's hasrate, faster the round ends and less time my crappy little setup has to submit shares - hence lower shares.

True, but you enter more rounds, so it ends up being the same relative payout.  It's been stated before in this thread and many others:  Your expected payout is not related to the pool speed.  Your expected payout is purely related to your speed vs network DIFFICULTY.

Higher pool speeds reduce your variance, hopefully keeping you close to your expected payouts.  You'll get smaller payouts much more frequently.  Lower pool speeds increase your variance (but still lower it compared to solo mining), providing larger payouts with less frequency.

Your hashrate stays the same? You're difficulty is probably adjusting up then. If you look at your miner, does the share difficulty increase from when you start to after the 48 hours or whatever? If the hashrate is the same, it's just increasing the difficulty for you so you are not wasting bandwidth and server load reporting shares too quickly.
Now I'm sitting at 99k shares submitted. I even took an hour break from BTCG but that didn't help. My shares just keep going down. I'm not sure if that is related to network difficulty but somehow think it's likely not related.

Your shares are going down per shift because the pool had a decent spurt of growth in the last 12 hours.  We were 530-550 TH/s most of yesterday, and this morning we're at 590-595 THs.  That's close to a 10% gain in pool size while I was asleep.  This would mean your shares per shift will be ~10% lower than they would have been roughly 12 hours ago.

Your shares per shift represent how much of the pool speed you make up.  If the pool speed goes up, your shares per shift go down, but the shifts complete that much faster, making it end up in balance.

Network difficulty does not effect the number of shares you submit. Look at your PPLNS shares page, when hashing, do you have a consistent number of shares per block? I'm not quite understanding the number of shares are decreasing and how you are determining that.

There won't be a next Single, Butterflylabs is the worst company I have ever seen to treat people who sent them thousands and thousands of dollars and then make them wait for a year for their products...  If they had the best miner in the world for sale tomorrow for 1BTC I would think twice before buying it... The way they treat people is just wrong.

Another huge jump? Didn't we just had a jump that nearly destroyed entire universe?

40% spike a few hours ago. We get a jump in the last few months just under every two weeks like the target should be. Today, you will mine 40% less BTC than you did as recent as yesterday.

Wow, that sucks.. I just got my BFL single yesterday, 60 G/hash more and It instantly is mining 40% less... hahahahahahahahahah oh well ...

Think for yourself
Makes sense, I suppose that is what's happening. But that also affects my reward too.

In terms of reward only, we just had a huge jump in network difficulty.  That will definitely decrease our reward.

I have 4 blades and few block erupters on single instance of BFGMiner. Would it help reduce difficulty if I gave them their own username and manage from separate instance of BFGMiner?

If your hashrate is staying the same, your reward shouldn't go down.

If you break them out to their own miner, they could have their own difficulty, but you would just be submitting shares quickly again, defeating the purpose. Your rewards should average out very nicely over 24 hours. Don't look at block by block or hour by hour, look at your earnings over longer periods of time.

WTF???
Question for eleuthria or any other member.

I've switched back and have been mining for about 48 hours on BTCG and notice something odd in my shares submitted.

When I started, I was submitting around 112k shares but my shares gradually go down no matter what. My shares are consistently around 100k to 102k - that's down 12k shares on every shift.

I have noticed this before too, so if I stop mining on BTCG for a day or two and come back, my shares are good and then gradually progress downwards. My hash rate is fine, actually BTCG shows my hash with more accuracy than any other pool.

Any ideas?
