I just get a big long list of errors, even if I do a forced refresh, or close the page and attempt to log back in...

Sessions needed to be cleared.

Servers have been restarted. You should be able to login now without any issue.

something wrong?

Pushed some new code with a hiccup. Things are better now. Updates are:

  • Sessions will last for 4 hours now so you can login less.
  • Two factor auth now requires that you confirm it is setup BEFORE it is enabled.

Just to follow up on that - bad luck might be a 14 hour block.  Good luck might be 6 blocks in 30 minutes.  The perception is that bad luck lasts a long time, and good luck a very short time.  If you watched during the 14.5 hours that these two events took, you'd perceive bad luck lasting 28 times longer than good luck even though the two actually average out to about normal luck...

That said, if you hit a really ugly block, I'm out of here for a while after the thing goes on for about 3 days.   Grin  I can't even begin to imagine how that 6+ day long block must have felt...

btw, are we hitting a patch of bad luck right now?

Yes. All pools have bad luck.

One thing to learn about mining is that you will have more perceived bad luck then good. The reason is that long blocks just take longer to find than short ones. This is counter intuitive in almost every way, hence why I am mentioning it.

For those who have left the pool, please know that all you have done is guarantee that you keep that bad luck in the form of less earnings.  Sad

Edit for more clarity.

The other problem with leaving the pool during bad luck is that you are divested in PPLNS after 10 hours. That means if you see us having good luck, you've already missed out AND it will take you another 10 hours to become fully vested in PPLNS again.

Looks like NMC is having stillborn issues....

https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/namecoin-was-stillborn-i-had-to-switch-off-life-support-310954

Should we keep it on the development list?

Maybe shift some development time over to an iOS or android app? Smiley

Argh.. worst luck ever these 24h.. incredible

Try again.

Maybe you should take a look at block #39 to see 06d 12h 58m 28s of no blocks and then think what it was like pushing though that one....

There were more than a few nights of drinking and reviewing stratum / bitcoin servers to make sure nothing was broken.

Maybe adding an EU server would help spreading the blocks around the world with less latency?

Might be useful, especially when the pool has exploded in growth the last month (really great!!! Smiley).

We already run multiple bitcoinds behind an internal load balancer to allow the stratum servers to get work from either one. This is part of the fault tolerant nature of the infrastructure design.

I see, nice setup gigavps Smiley. Then it should handle the load and give low latencies to us miners Smiley.

Keep the good work up gigavps!
