Maybe adding an EU server would help spreading the blocks around the world with less latency?

Might be useful, especially when the pool has exploded in growth the last month (really great!!! Smiley).

We already run multiple bitcoinds behind an internal load balancer to allow the stratum servers to get work from either one. This is part of the fault tolerant nature of the infrastructure design.

Damn orphan.

Arrrrrr.....  Cry

Looking at the database, we've had 27 orphans over 1,468 blocks. We are at 1.84% orphan rate currently which is a little high, but within the acceptable limits.

That said, I will look into if the bitcoind's can be optimized anymore than they already are.

I just did some quick calcs at eligius. They are at 3.6%+ over 2400 blocks. we are doing good.

I have noticed that the KnC Jupiters drops has rate by about 250GH/s when they flush work. I don't know if this is normal, so I have increased min difficulty to 400.

KNC miners are going to continue to experience issues such as this because KNC is unwilling to work with the people most capable of fixing it.

Changing your diff settings will only help to keep the diff from changing until your miner settles at 20 spm.

To set the optimal starting diff, do:

YOUR-HASH-RATE-PER-CGMINER-INSTANCE / 1.4

Ex. My new KNC Jupiter runs at 568Gh/s. 568 / 1.4 ~= 405

Pool Update

The pool servers now target 20 shares per minute instead of 12. To know your optimal setting, simple use the formula below.

YOUR-HASH-RATE / 1.4

This will give you a good target for your minimum hash rate.

I have noticed that the KnC Jupiters drops has rate by about 250GH/s when they flush work. I don't know if this is normal, so I have increased min difficulty to 400.

Okay, the 2 hours average seems to be better...  Wink

But still about 100 GH missing...

Your estimated hash rate on the site will go above AND below what cgminer stats because of share variance.

If you have not read up on this, please take the time to do so. Bitcoin mining can be very stressful if you are not properly educated on these things.

And it doesn't matter, because you aren't paid by the pool for your estimated hashrate, you are paid by the shares you submit.  It's usually nothing to worry about.

At your pool i see (and get???) about 5% less!

Speed rates shown by the pool are only estimates based off of accepted shares submitted. Your speed over a 30 minute period can also vary greatly.

The default dashboard hash rate chart is averaged over a 2hr period and it better suited to showing approximate hash rate over any period of time.
Then the calculation is not good!
Because its always 5-10 % less then in cgminer or on 50BTC for example...
So in my stats are missing about 200 GH!

EDIT: And its always less then cgminer...

Hey,

can you tell me the timeframe the Speedrate in the worker stats is beeing calculated?

All displayed speed rates for you and your workers is calculated over a 30 minute period.

Hey,

can you tell me the timeframe the Speedrate in the worker stats is beeing calculated?
The stats are not correct for me.
Running at 50 BTC i get my 550/480/520 for my three Jupiter and 180 GH for my 3 BFL.

At your pool i see (and get???) about 5% less!
