So I re-installed my VPS so its up to the latest version.
All the steps worked and I can open up my NODE controller, but I keep getting this message:

Loading ... Please wait!
Blockchain verified complaite, wait synced blocks.

But I didn't see it actually download the blockchain, considering this was a fresh install.

Should I just leave it and let it do its thing?
Its been over an hour.

You're welcome.

I believe the true power comes from the community itself.

The communities of crypto need to come together in an altruistic yet community driven profitable endeavor.

By letting other people do most of the work, we are essentially allowing for centralization to happen all over again.  This is how centralized banks and corporations come about.  People don't want to bother to help each other out and the result is having one or a group of people stepping up and taking control of the whole organization.

There is a quote somewhere out there by a philosopher that essentially says that even the most honest person left alone with all the power will eventually succumb to greed.  It is human nature. If communities work together, essentially power becomes divided amongst the community and even the most honest person cannot succumb to their nature of greed.

Back before history became written, humans relied on the strength of the community to survive.  In today's modern world, we rely on the strength of the few we have handed the power over to.  BTC communities have decided to leave the power with the most strong miners/exchanges and we have already seen how this can affect us all in a negative way.

True, so true.

The dev has also donated additional NODE to the program, so we have more NODE for nodes to reward now!  Cool

With the BTER scandal, as of right now the rewards will remain the same and I will keep watching for updates on the situation as this might also affect the rewards program.

If there is a change in the rewards I will announce it.

do you have to sign up for the program or does it detect the nodes automatically ?

If in the worst case bter will not return node, I am willing to help with a number of node to a possible fund for those who have lost...
Maybe 100k or 200k.

Luckily, I had all my coins and my stake in my wallets. I was going to hold long-term.
If it turns out all of your Nodes are lost and it is possible to prove you had owned the lost coins, I will participate and donate some of my coins to a fund to minimize your losses (~50k).

But i hope BTER will just get blackmailed and they get most of their coins back.
