Terrific! Will probably order more chips in the coming days and give you the order for two boards @ 0.75BTC each, but have to gather some new, fresh BTC first Smiley

News!

20-Jun-2013: Enough chips have been secured to guarantee all orders will be delivered (independent of the Batch 2 order state). Order window open until 01-Jul-2013 00:00 (EET, Bucharest time). There's a countdown timer in the 1st post to make this easier to calculate.

From Bkkcoins topic:
Just doing my sanity probing on the K16. Found first error: Vcc power for PIC is not connected. I know why, but I'm curious if anyone out there can find it and why Kicad does not report it during it's DRC check. Again, I know why, and in my opinion it's a huge failing of Kicad, but since I knew that it has this absurd behaviour I should have caught it especially with such an obvious line. Anyway, this one is easy to fix for the test board, and now I know I can fix the design file, but you know the whole point of design software is to not let this happen and Kicad fails miserably at this.

I'll get the fix1.pdf posted then as it show where to cut and join for the power.

Work in progress! I hope you didn't order any pcbs yet :\

I believe this may answer your questions.

Batch 2 people get it for .75 batch 1 for .8 and anyone else just purchasing through his website .85.  it looks like you need to PM Steve if you are batch 1 or 2 to arrange a special coupon to get the discount from his website.

Thanks Smiley Do you know if there has been any information on the time from completion of the batch to delivery of the assembled boards to the shipping company?

There is, somewhere in the thread, but i don't remember exactly where.
Currently i wouldn't want to tell you BS, like two days, so i would say about 3 weeks. This time also has some reserves in case something goes terribly wrong (like shortage of components).

Okay, from what I have been able to find, the time from finalizing the batch, it will take up to 10 weeks to deliver the chips, and another 3 weeks to assemble the boards - t13hydra, is this correct?

ANNOUNCMENT!

In an effort to fill the current batch of Avalon chips, i've made two offers, available for everyone under a few conditions:

1. If You are a Batch 1 customer, you can order as many boards as you wish, at a fixed price of 0.8 BTC (currently ~65 eur)

2. If you order chips from the second batch, you can order boards at a special price of 0.75 BTC each (currently ~61 eur). I will make very little or no profit at all, because this price is only to accelerate this batch of chips to fill up faster.

- Any order of boards so far will have the price difference refunded.
- The connection between the Batch1 chips purchase and the board purchase is made via the BTC sending address. Send the payment for the boards from the same address you've purchased the chips too.
- If i've forgotten any detail, please remind me of it.

I'm not going to read all 20+ pages, but I'd like to get the prices clarified (and I'm sure others will as well). 0.081 for each chip, and how much for a board? 0.75, 0.8, or 0.85 ? (those are the prices I've seen in the OP and the latest pages.

Like me Smiley
I have wrote to Marto that it could be better for me to order my chips by his order because we are in Bulgaria and it is simple for us to organize. Please post if you will make a common order and I am ready to pay for may chips - only to know where to send them.

Steve;
Maybe we could team up with the other groupbuys to fill up the last batch?
Both marto74's (https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/group-buy-avalon-chips-escrow-john-k-please-check-refund-list-until-sunday-217316) and bizwoo's (https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/closed-avalon-chips-0082btc-k16-miner-assembly-60eur-200067) 2nd batches are not going that fast..

Thank you! Great help come from great people!
This is a good idea and i'll talk to them tomorrow. If anybody can talk to them (marto74 and bizwoo), even personally, please do. It would be great to finally order a few batches, it would help hundreds of people!

Regards,
Steve

If anybody is still doubting and reading this;
there is still a lot of space left in Batch #2 and we need more people to get these chips, the deadline is coming soon. You won't find a cheaper price, Steve has already lowered his prices for the chips a couple of times.

Former curator of The Bitcoin Museum
rightio, just paid for 15 boards, got the coupon discount, but didn't get a cheaper price for the 10% increase to the bitcoin price Sad

I REALLY hope this is all legit and not some massive scam, I just spent the last of my fluid BTC.

I can't wait t13hydra!  Grin

Out of curiosity, how many boards have been ordered at this point, and what do you think your production capacity will be once the chips arrive?

I would like some suggestion for the shipping method from the users..
Do you know if it is worth to place an insurance on delivery?
Do you know a good company to place an insurance on my package?
Do you know a cheaper one? Or one with best service for the price?

I'm talking about shipping to europe anyways. Thanks everybody!

Also: Steve, wich shipping method did you choose for the international delivery of you website?
