Are there any more February shares available?

Hi gigacoiner,

It's still Batch 1 rigs as far as chips, but the second batch of miners that will ship out in March for new orders.
From what I understand: they wanted to give a realistic shipping window for new orders, as they realistically can't ship everything in one day, so that new buyers wouldn't feel misled.

EDIT: There *may* be a few February shares left, but I can't promise this, as Thomas is our official spreadsheet master for R17x and this sub-round...R17zj, yes, you read that correctly, may be nearly sold out:

Round R17zj as in 36 rigs. [Y'all broke our sub-round naming convention we came up with, so we had to make a new one]

So please be patient with Thomas and the payment processing: we're talking 1800 GB shares for this round alone that need to be accounted for properly, which can take time to confirm. Why, I do believe that he even has a coffee fund, if you felt like helping him along.  Cheesy

[Side note/update: been a long road but the site re-re-design for the co-op should begin later this week, which will have more automation for some things]

I was asked to send in emails for this and I did that yet they read processing.

Also todays order of 1391 for 2 shares is on-hold as I just paid it.  It reads you have feb delivery date.

If you are out of feb or have some left let us know as the website reads feb.
Website says Feb if available (as there are a few available) if you replied to the emails then your fine, it takes too long to go into each order and change them and as we are basically working for free for this there is no way we have the time to go back into each order and change them to complete.
  okay  I will double check.

New units (ones not already purchased) are in the March shipment. As of last night there were 49 shares open in the last unit we have on order for Feb.

Does this mean my #1368 shares made it into feb? (provided there are no delivery delays, of course)
yep, right now we are filling the last x3 that was ordered and have a very small number of shares.

Its $100 per 2 week period, per unit.
Miners would be pointer to a pool of your choice, but we have a in house pooling coming in soon.
Any units ordered from here on out would be delivered Mid March.

New units (ones not already purchased) are in the March shipment. As of last night there were 49 shares open in the last unit we have on order for Feb.

Can you confirm whether my order is in the Feb or March order?
I placed my order in the timeframe between the two quoted messages above.  Are there any more Feb units left?

Haha, each time I see this discussion about ROI'ing in either fiat or BTC I get this urge to chime in and try to convince others of my opinion. But the truth is that none of us will be able to convince the other, I tried already to convince philipma1957 on two occasions :p.

To each his own investment strategy. Let's just hope diff. increase goes back down.

yeah remind me when ever i get this way…..  it is kind of like asking a Hindu to eat beef or a Jew to have a ham sandwich just  bad form on my part.

so if I spent 105 usd for 1 btc in the month of sept 2013

and you  spent 1152 usd for 1 btc in on nov 28th of 2013

and we both held our coins until today in your value system of btc only we are = at 1btc each  and you are correct we both have 1 btc currently worth 650 usd.  we traveled two separate paths to the same destination of equal btc  1 a piece.   we put in a btc we took got back a btc so we both broke even .

so do you want to be on the nov 28th path  up to todays price or the sept 2013 path up to todays price?

I don't see the relevance of this example to a mining deal that is being offered right now.

Right now -- not in September or November, but right now -- it costs around 0.2 BTC per share to get in on this deal. If you want to conclude that is a good deal you have to believe you will get >0.2 BTC per share out, otherwise you can just buy the 0.2 BTC right now and put it in a drawer. That will be a better investment than any mining deal offered right now that gets <0.2 BTC out.

Frankly a roi in btc means nothing

It makes a difference to mining because you can always just hold the BTC and wait for them to go up.

Case in point this group buy currently costs around 0.2 BTC per share. If you just hold onto those 0.2 BTC you might do very well if the price of BTC goes up. Assuming the price does go up, to do better by sending it off to buy hardware you need to somehow eventually end up with more than 0.2 BTC at some point in the future.

yes you can do that..   and you are leaving out the value of the gear.  the gear has resale value.

No not at all. The resale value contributes to the 0.2 BTC (or more) you need to get out. As long as that happens, you are better off with the mining deal. If it doesn't happen, you are better off having put the 0.2 BTC in a drawer instead.

Conceptually it isn't that complicated. What is complicated is coming up with an accurate prediction of difficulty before and during the useful life of the equipment.

Quote
buy a share for .217 btc  and in 1 year earn .200 btc  then sell the gear for .1 btc you have .3btc    at 1200 = 360

the problem with thinking in btc roi   is you use 1 path to profit and leave out hundreds of other paths.

In that case your ROI in terms of BTC is positive (0.3 > 0.217). You haven't identified some other path to profit.

well then if you look to define things in the world of btc you'll always be correct. a btc in  is a btc out.

so if I spent 105 usd for 1 btc in the month of sept 2013

So 1 share at 130usd  at 600 usd  btc is     .217 btc.

pay that.  and in 1 year  1 btc = 1200    so  you have  260 usd / .217 btc

buy a share for .217 btc  and in 1 year earn .200 btc  then sell the gear for .1 btc you have .3btc    at 1200 = 360

This is not to say that buying 10 btc from coinbase today at 6k stashing it in a safe wallet for 2 years completely ignoring it is a bad move.   It is a simple 1 way 1 method choice to making money in the world of btc.

Buying a share here is more complex. Doing both is more complex.  doing that  plus selling some gear on ebay  and mining in your home along with setting gear up for local friend if far more complex.  This is my limit.  Others do all of that and write programs for mining and others do all that and write programs for new coins.
