So, yesterday I got an email from Coin Of Midas saying that the site is back up and running. Checked it out and, sure enough, it's true.

I agree with the previous posters.... it was a really good site and it seems like it once again can be a good place to promote sites and ref links, but it doesn't seem like you earn Bitcoins directly in this new incarnation... rather, you earn "gold" and "silver" which can be used to pay for banners, ads and surf exchange sites. I would guess one can exchange the "gold and silver" for Bitcoin when you want to cash out, but I haven't seen how to do this yet.

At any rate, EFB.... you have 1000 direct referrals? Now might be a good time to get active on the site again and if you can contact your referrals, get them back in too.

As for kingmidas, I noticed he had logged into bitcointalk in late April, so I'd say he's not dead yet. :-D

I think the guy running coinofmidas.com has probably died or is in serious bad health.

I spoke to him several times via email many months ago but then the communication just stopped.

It is a very successful site that will likely make a fortune, I myself have over 1,000 direct referrals and I'm sure many other folks here have just as much referrals. That user database alone is worth a fortune.

Like several others here, I have contacted him via email offering to buy the site and running it myself, but to no avail. I see the potential of the site because me as a single user has referred 1k plus other users. I can only imagine how many bitcoin users he has in the database. Coinofmidas.com is a virtual goldmine to any business involved in bitcoin.

I really hope the guy is ok. He is from my adopted home country of Romania. We even talked about meeting up for a beer before communication went dead.

I hope he has not paid for a years hosting in advance and then snuffed it Smiley

the idea behind this site was great but I feel the amount of ads you can view on this site were always limited so it was a major turnoff and the owner probably was not making enough profit to keep interested

I'm sending some referrals your way. Can we get some stats on referrals, so I can judge how effective it is?

The Account page lists the number of clicks your referals made. The referal list shows stats per refered person.

The graph shpwing the number of clicks over the last 7 days in the account section seems to be defunct since yesterday. I got credited for the clicks but the graph shows 0 clicks for yesterday and today. It's nothing big, but still it can be confusing for a moment if you don't check the balance.

I wont request a payout until you get it sorted then, hope you get everything sorted and that you didnt have too much stolen.
Same here. Hope you can get things fixed and the guys didn't rob too much.

No need to worry. I will make sure everyone gets paid, even if the bitcoins are from my personal wallet. The site is new and I don't want to be considered scam. I am still improving various things around the website. The withdraw page will be available soon, with a lower minimum withdraw and no fee, but manual verification and payout. Smiley

Hello!

I have some bad news... I checked my bitcoin server and I found out that someone was stealing all the bitcoins deposited by the advertisers.
I will pay the members from my out wallet if necessary, but I can't figure out how. How did someone got access to my bitcoin server?

The further deposits will be processed manually until I figure out what went wrong and fix it.

PHP is ripe for XSS exploits, are you sure you sanitized all your data? Are you using jsonrpc or bitcoind to process requests?
