The answer is here, Coinbase is alive and well:
http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2017-06-21/ethereum-flash-crashes-after-status-ico-clogs-network

The article reads : "As tends to happen without fail during volatile crypto-periods, the crash almost immediately took the Coinbase offline."

Coinbase has been hacked!
ETH has been effected!

Please site:

https://status.coinbase.com/

should see major sell off..

Beware...
Not this reason, the reason make ETH down is Ethchain congestion by ICO Status (SNT), a huge people like this project and want to buy, but accidentally make ethchain have big transaction can't confirm => Some Exchange site blocked withdraw ETH, example: Coinbase, Poloniex, ... and panic seller everywhere

what's! really coinbase hacked?

no it's a problem with ETH transaction, someone forked maybe? i'm not sure need to check it better, but the fact thta many other exchange are reporting the same problem means that there is no hack

Perhaps this bit of news will help.... https://news.bitcoin.com/status-ico-generates-over-60-million-but-fails-to-deliver-meanwhile-ethereum-flounders/

The Status ICO triggered the eth chain to overload hence the pending transactions and outages in exchange wallets.

That is why bitcoin will be still a good choice.. and ETH are having a lots of problem even in other exchange site i heard that ethereum wallet was inactive past few days.. Ethereum still altcoin and i think if what happen in bitcoin before it can be happen in ethereum or other altcoin their reason its because of traffic that actually already past this issue from bitcoin before.. that is why bitcoin will never die or replace by ethereum,.

i wonder how ltc will manage a sudden surge in transaction volume? someone said something about overwhelming a particular chain/network to test how it'll fare, so i totally agree with that person. doing so will help devs improve the performance (if that is possible?) of the network.

How do you deduce whether Coinbase has been hacked or not? Just because ETH transection has some problem? Shouldn't be so easy to decide about something really happened or not when you don't have enough evidence. Maybe some people will panic and sell and loss some money just because of your message.

ETH wallet is not down but due to the huge blockage, the transactions are pending since 24 hours. My transactions too are pending but I have noticed transactions with a gas limit of 250000 appearing on the network.

Also, coinbase is not hacked but they too are facing issues due to heavy traffic. Today the situation seems abnormal even for the ICOs. Everything is suffering including exchanges that depend on the ETH market.

So large transactions have appeared and @thadome received an amount that he shouldn't have when the congestion issues took place. So will the eth blockchain be edited again to make up for the erroneous transfers? No matter how enticing eth's value is, I think I'll be sticking with a different alt and bitcoin.

Either intentional FUD or just someone unaware. There was a few big events with status and civic ICOs that has led to huge amounts of transations being sent on the ETH network which has filled it up to its limit. This has resulted in everyone using ETH or ETH tokens to have issues sending and receiving.

This is barely a FUD my friend. The person opened the thread is sayin a hack wave affected coinbase and ethereum. There is no proof of this.

The ladt block was mined a minute ago.Everything deems okay with etherium blockchain. The congestion might be due to large number of transaction moving into few eth address(use for crowdsales and ico). This gave  some people a chance to spread the fud and trigger panic selling. This is the reason of price fall.I am sure as soon as congestion is over, price will sky rocket

Agreed.. but not random people receiving random funds - as has happened to me personally

If it is a matter of while then I feel it might be a good time to gather some more to sell later. But if this is a problem not be resolved then it is a good time to sell now because the price is still good. I also have a few coins and still hold the ETH to it, which I bought in about month ago so as not to create too much harm

This thread has almost Zero Facts. Full of FUD .. It's obvious by the title of the prejudice.  This kind of BS has been used against BTC foooorrrreeevver to try and walk the price back. It doesn't affect BTC'ers anymore so they are attacking ETH.  Desperate attempt by someone for what reasons ? It will fail like all the others. The world is changing rapidly and cryptos are here to stay,  bet on it!

Well, all I can say is that I had a HUGE amount appear in my coinbase account.. enough to buy a few new SUVs...  later yesterday my account was then locked, I guess I could call it frozen.., again, I have received such funds, and I don't believe that my personal account was hacked, i.e. someone did not log in with my credentials.. Asking around friends, no one had seen this behavior on Tuesday 7/20/17... That said.. Coinbase said it is an outage.. For sure it is an outage. but looking at my account and the comment I  from Coinbase transaction notification email.. it looks like a gigantic bug, OR a gigantic hack.. working in SW development, a bug is not very likely in this scenario

With the facts that I know, it certainly looks like a hack.
More grade A fud. There is no hack. There's network congestion due to the overwhelming popularity of ETH and the ICOs. It's a growing network only 2 years old.

I have a coinbase account, mostly for ETH. Yesterday I transferred out a bit to a different exchange and then saw a large amount of ETH show up in my account... it was hacked... my account is now locked. had an email from coinbase confirming that they transferred out of my account to a "coinbase account" a different amount than the ETH that I had received earlier in the day yesterday. with the note: "P4, Coinbase balance adjustment"..

If this is not a huge hack, then I don't know.
