Caveats, do not use a coin that you do not trust will keep the value over the period of moving the coins.  There is an exchange fee for trading coins, make sure that you do not care about those funds.  Make sure that amount of the new coin is high enough to meet the minimum withdrawal.  These things can work in an emergency, but the best course is to relax and wait it out.

I don't use coinbase but saw people complaining on their that their site were down during the dip that happened few days ago. I guess it is not uncommon and  happens often when there is a huge price drop/rise of bitcoin.

These issues with multiple sites are likely because of the increasing traffic with people panic selling and recent buying.  One thing that you can do if you are just wanted to move funds, although it will cost you an extra fee is change BTC into another currency on the exchange and move that currency.

Ok, looks like it is just a loading problem issue on their side, everything is fine now, and all their services are back up. I hope such outage does not occur again as it indeed scares people.. Tongue Minimizing usage of CoinBase for now, however its still my favorite exchange site so would still use it in the future.

I have today site seems better working. Last few months there is down time for transacting bitcoin once and etherum transaction is also down sometime. I sent some bitcoin to my friend on yesterday. Compare with xapo and web wallet coinbase seems good in fees wise. There is no wallet would like to get transacted with the low charge.

It's back up for me. Growing pains I suspect, maybe combined with the DDOS other exchanges were seeing, i.e. just a ton of traffic since interest in this sector exploded a couple weeks ago. Nothing to worry about IMO.

It became a regular thing if you are a user of Coinbase. The price is falling and hoping to see it around 1500$+ as my prediction. Coinbase is having too much of a downtime recently and lots of accusations on them. Shifting to a better wallet is a preferable idea.

This assumes that you can use the exchange site to that level with their issues.  The internal exchange may mean that the exchange is just moving around database figures to represent your balances, like using their own coin to coin margins and not really moving BTC from one wallet to another. As long as the other coin keeps the value, its blockchain should be less crowded and go quicker.

It always happen to coinbase when the price of Bitcoin rapidly increasing and also if the price decreased with huge amount, I guess this is not due to the traffic of the website's users but it's to prevent their users from selling when the price is going down or buy when the price is at the bottom IMO, but whatever the reason is, that's not what a professional service/company'a doing.

This is not the first time they are offline when there is a major price difference,i am not sure what is happening but one thing is sure, you are not able to use your coins when there is a big crash as the site will be offline, may be because they could not handle the traffic, what ever may be the reason they should provide a better service.

I have some litecoins and bitcoins with them too but if you've been following closely they've been down a couple of times since last month and the only reason they give is that they're doing some maintenance and are temporarily unavailable. I'm not anxious but truth be told it is becoming too many andvthey need to correct it.

i am not using coinbase for a long time because i don't like the service, i think its better to use other service than coinbase. and for now if coinbase is down, i think its not because of bitcoin price falling but maybe they are having a serious problem so they need to investigate the problem and fixed it so the member will feel safe to deposit their funds into coinbase. i think we can send them an email to asked this and see if they reply our email soon.

What is going on today? Any other exchange affected?

Just chill mate! No cause for alarm until otherwise. Moreover, has there ever been a time coinbase has never been on the news for raising their user's blood pressure? They will come around. Why coinbase anyway? Why not find a better wallet to use? Not saying coinbase is bad but at least to save yourself from the usual terrifying acts from them.

It is convenient that coinbase goes down every time there is a drastic downward swing in the market.  I suspect they don't want people exchanging currency to bitcoin at the lower price (it always comes back up when after momentum builds back up and the price has increased).
And that is bad! Why will they be trying to manipulate how people should make use of their coins. I still have no idea why people use that wallet in the first place. Never heard anything good about them. Not like they have the best secured online wallet or something!

I have noticed this as a trend with a handful of bitcoin exchanges that I used to work with. Some of them operate really sketchy practice in the industry and try to manipulate the times people are able to exchange for their own benefit as a company. Nadex and other trading websites do the same thing, if the market is moving too drastically they temporarily halt trading until it stabilizes.

That's totally fraud. This is because of preventing you from moving your funds to another exchange during huge coin dump.

Every thing went down, this is expected. The prices went up too fast and it does not reflect what it should be. It was a small bubble that popped and now this is the correction. Though if you look at the history of bitcoins, this is normal and it has happened plenty of times in the past. So when this happens consider this as a opportunity to buy.

What you are telling true but for that who ever is having account in coinbase and their amount is stuck with that site then how can they buy now when the price is down and it is a good time to buy bitcoins but the site is down.
