If it's true, we have serious problems in cryptoland. You have to try the support again.

I've been reading so many threads about coinbase being a scam but i cant prove it at all because it's not happening to me.But then if that thing is true you can file a case against to their company if they will not refund the money tgey get from you.And after doing that better to use another wallet like xapo or any other wallets out there

If there were a single company that could be labeled the most evil and destructive to what Bitcoin represents, it would be Coinbase.

i choose Mtgox.

haha.  I am not sure I would say that CoinBase is the most evil either.  I have not had a problem with Coinbase and have actually enjoyed my experience there with customer service and overall functionality.

As for the title OP - maybe use the word "scammed" when referring to an entity after you have proven they have actually done something.

Smells like Gox spirit. It was gox then cryptsy and it seems like coinbase is the next one. People are trusting those online exchanges too much. I never hold  more than a couple hundred bucks in an online exchange site. It is not safe. If you want to hold bitcoins, hold it in your own wallet. If you want to hold FIAT, hold it in a bank (banks are not safe neither i know but mostly safer than an exchange site which you don't know a thing about its owner and they usually operate in a foreign country which makes things harder.)

I've been seeing quite a lot of reports and rages like these, which is quite alarming for all of us bitcoin users, especially for us who use Coinbase. This wasn't the first post even. I've seen probably around 3 or more others threads like this and this probably isn't going to be the last one.

I don't have any idea what to go with but you can probably wait for 10 business days, although prepare legal statements that may help you. I'm not very educated with legalities and stuff so better call on a lawyer and ask for help.

But for me never had experience yet those problem in my account but heard many times that some account lock due to bitcoin is from a gambling site.. and didnt recover their money..
Until now theres no news about this issue.. thats why i change my wallet from coinbase to electrum..

I am also using coinbase for more than 2 yrs and did not faced any problem but i am not purchasing bitcoins as my country is not supported for trading in coinbase so i just buy from other exchange and deposit in coinbase and do trading and gambling, but after reading your comment i think i also have to be carefull in gambling to use this account.

Actually this isn't the first complaint on coinbase, on how they stole money to people without any clear explanation and then leaving the victim hanging. Anyway if you will do something like that better buy small but many times and put it in blockchain. But anyways you can't trust anyone on the internet.

If there were a single company that could be labeled the most evil and destructive to what Bitcoin represents, it would be Coinbase.

Exhibit A: http://www.coindesk.com/coinbase-co-founder-ethereum-blow-past-bitcoin/

They want to control the future of digital currencies so bad, once they found out the Core team wasn't interested in being controlled and they weren't able to force their altcoin clone on the community, they've found a project they can buy control of and are now pushing that over Bitcoin.  These people don't have the community's best interests in mind.  They want to rape digital currencies for profit and maintain control.  Nobody in the Bitcoin community should be sending them any business or using any of their services.  They are an embarrassment to what Bitcoin stands for.

I agree. I resolved not to use or recommend them anymore 1-2 years back. They certainly don't have Bitcoin's interest at heart. They are either just very greedy and short-sighted, or have some other agenda.

I have never had a problem with Coinbase - very fast and always accurate. Most of the complaints are probably due to the archaic ACH system not Coinbase specific issues.

Really upsetting to know that Coinbase is getting into more and more troubles. I hope their re-branding is not going to compromise the reputation (if any) that they have built over the years.

... my orders were being blocked by my bank, which I dealt with and resolved.

Your bank blocked payments to Coinbase and that probably makes you look like a scammer. I am no fan of Coinbase, but your problem was caused by you or your bank, and not Coinbase. Furthermore, whether you like it or not, refunds are slow because the banking system is slow.

They can send him bitcoins, which of course is faster, instead of refunds if they have bonafide intentions. The op says he is an old customer. He should be treated with quick response

...

ccs5t

I now feel a little better that Circle was easier for me to set up my account, and that Coinbase never helped me do so.  My limit is currently $300 / week to purchase BTC.  I might be able to get then to raise it if I want.

Good luck, whatever the circumstances.  I would think there is a chance you may get your money back or BTC.

How is this even legal? A company can just decide to hold my money for no reason at all? Or lie about it taking 10 business days? Do I have any recourse here?
Recourse?  Are you kidding?  There is a very good chance that money is gone forever.  Coinbase is pulling a Mt Gox these days.  More and more money is getting stuck in the cracks.  They have no more money to pay employees and some are now working for 'free'.  I think it is soon over for them.  If you can, get your money out now.  When this started happening at MtGox people didn't listen and lost everything.   Don't let that happen to you.

I'm interested in this. Not calling you out, doubting the veracity of that statement I mean, but did you see something somewhere saying that employees weren't getting paid? If so, this is indeed concerning, this seems to be the omnipresent straw that lands right before the camel's back break. This happened at both Gox and Neobee right before they kicked the bucket.

Link me please, if you can? Appreciate you in advance bro.

It looks like this is just the tip of the iceberg.  Coinbase's response, in this case, seems to be diversionary in nature;  they need more time to figure out what hell they're going to do.  That's the problem in dealing with centralized institutions....

My advice in dealing with these offchain ledgers is to keep records, maintain a paper and communication trail....you may need them later. They're will be more to come....mark my words!

Nowadays there are a lot of issues with coinbase, a lot of people are complaining against coinbase after they lost their coins at there, so I will suggest we all have to stay away from it for now and have to use some other platform and if using coinbase for you is more important then you should have to wait a little and whenever their issues are solved, join it.
