Other users have been paid back in full for CD's.

TF stated that CL balances would never be used to pay back inputs.io balances.  I guess we wait and see.

THIS!

My (not only my) entire bitcoin stash lies with coinlenders (yes call me stupid)

These have been locked into CD's for months prior to the hack, presumably NOT in a hot pocket. The majority of locked cd's must be loaned out or invested or in exchanges. Otherwise he couldnt make the interest payments if they were just sitting around doing nothing.

Most of the coinlenders coins are surely working hard. Not sitting waiting to be stolen like web wallets.

We can do staistical analysis on these facts later but for the time being lets wait and see what the refund of CL bring.

but those who want to sell, scared of a current bubble might disagree with you. For some 1BTC is 1BTC despite timeline we're in, but for others 1BTC is 10BTCtomorrow and 0.1BTC yesterday

also this can also be a huge gamble - "lose" 4k BTC at $300 and refund them a "find" bit later when they are $200

Although personally I do not believe TF is a scammer.

True, that opens up possibility for TF to give options to CL depositors.
Get [balance]-10% XBT soon or get full refund in weeks/months.
Personally I would choose the later.

Of course those numbers/time frames are made up by myself and I have no idea if they are realistic or not.

100% CL balances will be refunded or just partial?
partial prob.
Hopefully this depends on the amount of coins the were stored in our CL. If it was a substantial amount then most likely we'll get %100 reimbursed.
If it was a larger amount then I'd say he's bound to repay us small amount up front and hopefully gradually repay the rest.

Well, looking at this article: http://www.coindesk.com/hackers-steal-bitcoins-inputs-io-wallet-service/ he is doing the opposite for inputs.io users.
A "sliding scare" where if you lost 1XBT you get 74%, 2XBT give you 65%, etc.

Personally I will hold TF accountable for anything but a 100% refund.
Time is not an important aspect for me, if it takes weeks or months to get full refund is ok, as long as I get it.

I warned you, guys...
PSA: OP is paving the way to steal all your coins.
Me too, though I'm lazy enough not to search for my numerous posts on the subject.

He'll obviously use the "Everything was fictional anyway" defense in court, against his users, exactly like I suspected.

TF, at least put up a big "CL will not accept new deposits and loan applications, please hold on while I sort this mess" sign on the front page like you did for inputs.io. Letting the site run like nothing happened is very misleading if not offensive.

Thanks for the reply TF but as an Avalon batch 3 customer I'm wary about what an upcoming email update will give me in the form of tangible benefits.

It's nice to see you're communicating though, hope this all works out in the end.

You had 2 weeks allready to shut the fucking site down and not let us make any more transactions/investments to it, yet you still keep it running.

Now that the press has found him I wouldn't be surprised if he lawyers up and drops out of site. Sad

ps-just noticed that no "fee rebate" (interest) was applied to my coinlenders balance on 11/6 and 11/7 but interest was posted today 11/8. Must by running on autopilot...

That's certainly a possibility. I don't know anymore. Also, I think it's irresponsible to keep CoinLenders' website just as if nothing had happened, no warning... no nothing. Hoping it's just because he's giving greater priority to Inputs at this moment.

Makes me wonder if he's planning to pay some of the refunds off "fee rebates" once he collects any more loans.  Huh

I don't really care if it takes longer, so as long as they get sent at all  Undecided Though if he's manually processing the refunds, it would probably be a nice bit of extra courtesy to ask if the involved party would be interested in spending a bit further from his refunded amount as a fee so they get to see and use their money faster.

Also: Any official announcements from TF in regards to CoinLenders? I know someone said he'd process CL refunds next week, but a first-hand confirmation would be nice.

...I want to think that TradeFortress is solid eough on his other business to (at some point) restore everybody´s funds and rise again (just like us) from the ashes. Embarrassed

It won't be that easy. With the price of bitcoin sky-rocketting it'll be hard for TF to recover 4100BTC as people will not want to let go of their coins as easily as before... however good the business idea might be. If he isn't a scammer, and he genuinely got hacked (which i don't think so), his only hope is for waiting for BTC value to crash so he can purchase those coins at a lesser rate and refund all those who lost their coins. But this ain't ever going to happen... so sadly you guys have to say goodbye to your coins.

He was stupid enough to set passwords for authenticating into inputs.io instead of using SSH (form: http://www.wired.com/wiredenterprise/2013/11/inputs/). Even bigger stupidity is refunding his customers with 0 fees (https://blockchain.info/address/1GLadosEkeAsLReqS3yQ51E1R3wVtbJCDF). Now those coins will be stuck in a limbo (unless there is a miner gracious enough to allow 0 fee transactions).

Some of these 0-fee refund transactions have already confirmed. They are taking quite a long time, but they're slowly confirming.
I think that TF is thinking is that if he's planning to send many refund transactions, the transaction fees from the transactions could add up for one more person's refund or something.
