If you look at their regular freerolls, the platform seems to struggle with generating enough rake to support larger tournaments. This is evident by their inability to run frequent big freerolls.
In contrast, Stake can easily host million-dollar freerolls every day due to the sheer volume of money flowing through their platform. However, their biggest limitation currently is the lack of a dedicated poker client. Web browser-based poker platforms are notoriously vulnerable to cheating, which is why most major platforms avoid them. In my opinion, Stake is likely developing a dedicated client and wants to build a strong user base before launching it. This could pave the way for even bigger freerolls in the future.
Given the high rake structure of GG Poker, Stake has the potential to be the only competitor that can truly challenge them. I have high hopes for Stake's role in the future of online poker
In my understanding, any freeroll tournament is primarily marketing to attract newcomers, and it's worth noting that Coinpoker has held more than enough freeroll tournaments with different prize pools recently. Even now, they have some interesting freeroll tournaments on their schedule.
As for hosting multi-million dollar freerolls daily, no poker room will spend their funds this way. I think the WPN network had a record in this regard when they held regular freeroll tournaments with prize pools of $20-50k for half a year.
By the way, the GGpoker is quite scarce regarding regular freerolls.
