That was likely 20-40 people from bitcointalk and the rest were just players looking for a password and free money. Coinpoker hosts many freerolls throughout the day along with many freeroll satellites to bigger buyins and tickets. They always have 500+ in them.

If coinpoker wants to host a series and needs help organizing it, feel free to pm me. I would want it to be for the bitcointalk community only, not the freebie hunters.

It would be nice to have a private tournament for the forum players only where the users get the tournament password by personal message here in the forum. As you mentioned, that way we would see close to 40 users in the tournament.

Personally, i like the KO tournament style where users get some extra prize each time they bust other users, but for that kind of game, we should pay a buy-in. I hope OP contacts you for a Forum private tournament.

There isnt that many poker enthusiast in this forum and thats a fact. Back then all those poker tournaments are almost EV+ if you know abit of how to play poker effectively but back then there isnt that many people that would join the tournament hosted by those site

The highest we could ever get was probably around 25-35 people and the last tournament hosted was probably like 12 people on average thats show how low the enthusiasm of this forum on poker
It makes me surprised with this poker tournament, you are right.

What you said is true. I have never been a poker player but I read people's discussions on past poker tournaments and people complained about lack of players too, I remembered as same as you did. One of players I remember is BetWrong.

I wonder what are factors to make this Coin Poker-hosted tournament attracts many players according to previous posts.

Anyone from Coinpoker team helps me?
For how many days already, I still haven't received any code from my mobile number. I tried both Android and MacOS, but still no chance at all.

My Coinpoker username is GreatArkansas
Maybe there's a way from Coinpoker team that can skip mobile verification step on my account, so I can proceed to log in.
Hello everyone. I just want you to inform that the OTP code being sent to my mobile number is already working, I already received the code and am able to verify my account, I am already logged in. Thanks for Coinpoker if by any chance you are able to fix this. I can now able to use the platform.

The lobby is private, but it feels like a public tournament because of the huge number of participants. Do VIPs have perks that allow them to join the tournament even though the lobby is private? It's surprising how many joined the tournament despite it being private and the room password is only available on Bitcointalk. Are there bots on CoinPoker?
It wasn't private since the code to enter was posted here publicly. It's understandable since it was the contest to test the waters here, with the next ones (if we get them) they'll be done better. I'll recommend;

• Making an announcement ahead of time in the games and rounds section. This builds more traffic and gives users time to join in.
• Collecting the number if interested players and sending personalized single use passwords to each person. No one will be able to share their password and it'll be a guaranteed number of participants.

How was the first exclusive bitcointalk freeroll? How many players were there and who is the lucky member here won the 1st place? I did not register and participate because the starting time was at 2AM in my local time. Although I was awake but I prefer to spend my time to watch the UCL Final match Smiley If the number of participants was low, there can be at least 2 reasons. First is about timezone and second is about the fact that the free roll was at the same time with UCL final match.

Nearly 700 participants joined their BitcoinTalk Invitational (lobby or tournament name). I didn't expect so many to join that exclusive tournament for the Bitcointalk community. The last tournament is like 2 or 3 years ago so this wave of participants can be explained.

Most likely not, I mean why in the sane world would they even deployed like 500+ of bots to join $200 prizepool free rolls lol. Thats literally penny and probably most of that are legit players but yeah obviously its kinda expected considering that the password was visible all along

Take this for a brief review,

For the fee of you that have had to gamble here on Coinpoker.com, I don’t know how you guys managed to successfully login without having to download the app. I mean, things like this ought to have come easy but, I’ve had a lot of difficulty logging in for a couple of minutes.
What’s widely displayed on site homepage upon accessing is just a Register option. Haven’t successfully gone through that along with email verification, I come back to login and had to go searching out for the login icon.

Good enough it was at the bottom corner of the home page, silently written. I clicked and it jumped me back to the top. Tried over and over again and got dame result.

There could be many other persons like myself going through this and I feel it shouldn’t be. Not so many would want to come up to make a statement about it but am on hear writing of it so it could be fixed. After account creation ot even before that, the login icon should be as board as the registration icon, it makes it an easy to navigate and consequently, use of the site.

There was huge number of participants. OP wasn't fully aware. Others player have also joined the tournament. Password in the DM would be the only solution to hold a tourney for Bitcointalk.

Yeah, it’s useless to set a password on tournament if it’s still posted in public post. There’s a lot of potential abusers that will invalidate the exclusivity of this tournament.

Bitcoin forum community lacked of Poker tournaments since ones hosted by SwCPoker team and another casino that turned to scam Betnomi. These tournaments hosted by SwcPoker team, efialtis and yahoo62278 as I remember. The huge number of participants on CoinPoker show that how hungry the community feel after a long time of no Poker tournament.

The last tournament is like 2 or 3 years ago so this wave of participants can be explained.

I think this was discussed before that they allow other user to join on this exclusive tournament since more than 3K users join that time due to the visibility of the password.

It was noted here https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.64151462

Hi everyone!

How about a poker tournament on us this weekend?

We'd like to invite all bitcointalk users to a free tournament for a chance to win your share of a $200 prize pool!

Tournament details:

  • Prize pool: $200
  • Buy-in: Free!
  • Password: Bitcointalk123!
  • When: June 1st at 7pm GMT
  • Where: Open the client and log in to your account. From the main lobby, click on the Tournaments Tab to find the freeroll from the list.

If you don't have an account yet, you can easily register on CoinPoker. Click here and follow the instructions on the screen.

We hope you'll enjoy it, we are to answer any questions you might have.

Have a great weekend ahead!

It's nice that my suggestion about the exclusive Bitcointalk Freeroll was heard or happened although I didn't manage to enter since I didn't notice this short notice announcement while I was enjoying my weekends off-road with my friends.

I hope the next exclusive freeroll will be announced with enough time for everyone to notice. Anyway anyone knew who dominated this tournament? Let's have some fun on the next one assuming there will be more rounds.

They have also some issues on the mobile interface or they are only a desktop-based interface I am not sure about that!
Here are some Screenshots their Navigation Bar wasn't in good position in mobile device.

I've tried switching my browser to Desktop version in my phone and it works to me just fine, this is a late reply so they've probably fixed that issue that is being concerned here, I mean they're already planning to be in some kind of tenure here so I'm sure that they will do something about it, I will probably check it later if they did fixed it.

My suggestion is for the sake of improving the reach in the forum not in the general marketing. Those freeroll tournament that you mention is not known for most of members here unless they sign up on the casino first.

Exclusive bitcointalk freeroll is being use by many reputable casino before as marketing strategy to recruit forum members to try the casino by experiencing the exclusive freeroll first. It’s like letting them experience first how good the casino through exclusive offers than let them join for good.

This will attract forum users to specifically try the casino especially if the reward is good.

Let me remind you that there was recently created a thread of another poker app, whose representative decided to organize an exclusive freeroll with a prize pool of 100 USDT for bitcointalk users. As a result, this freeroll tournament with such a small prize pool attracted only 17 users. Just a little bit. Isn't it?
My point is that holding an exclusive freeroll doesn't mean that it can attract a lot of users who would like to try their hand at the poker room.

Coinpoker team heard Dimonstration's suggestions. And if you look at their tournament made for the Bitcointalk community, the results are different compared to the tournament you're referring to. Now, the tournament exclusively for the Bitcointalk community has over 100 registrants compared to the tournament you're talking about, which if I remember correctly had only 17 participants.

However, I doubt that all 100+ who registered for the Bitcointalk Invitational Poker are from Bitcointalk. This number is five times higher compared to the tournament you're referring to. Hopefully theres some sort of verification that those participants are really from BitcoinTalk community.

Just downloaded the software and I must say so far the experience is, let's say, just ok .
Everything is loading forever somehow, and I have high speed internet. Don't know what exactly the problem is but hopefully it gets better.

Saw there are plenty of freerolls which is nice for beginners to check out the software, I will do the same and see how it feels. On first glance the software (tables and so on) looks much better as for example stake's long expected poker feature they "worked so hard on" for so long.  Roll Eyes

Anyway, let's see how it goes.

@xlays @greatarkansas do you manage to create an account already?  Surprisingly the verification email is not arriving on me as well even though I use the email option on registration. Already checked the spam mail but there’s still no verification email.

I knew that we are on same local. I’m thinking that our country might have problem creating an account. I will try again using my desktop so that I can download the app and check whether I can register in the app itself.

Update

Verification email already arrived just now.
Yes. It's okay now. I've managed to create an account here on CoinPoker using the android app. I already received an SMS code from them. Finally they found a way and I can now join their freeroll. The freeroll table is named BitcoinTalk Invitational. As of now, only 10 people have registered on that freeroll. Try to create an account again now, maybe they will send you an SMS code as well. See you in freeroll tournaments. lol
Got my account  email verified in just few seconds,  i am satisfied with coinpoker speed of account verification on the site and also I want to take part in the just launched CoinPoker tournament that was announced earlier,  its good to see a new casinos offering a tournament this time around we used to have poker tournament before the casino went bezer sometime ago and since then, there have not been introduction of a tournament so I believe this will indeed increase the visibility of this casino most especially now that their are trying to build a reputation visibility here in rge forum.

I appreciate your suggestions, we will look into this for the next one. We didn't want to alienate any bitcointalk user who might already have had a CoinPoker account already, but you make a very good point. I'll take your comments onboard for next week and will only share the password closer to the start of the tournament.

With only 13 players registered, there's still some great value, and we're not expecting it to reach 3000 players.

Just on how you can make it exclusive to forum members, create a separate thread on game and rounds board here in gambling section and dedicate it for the enrollment of players that want to join by posting the application form on that specific thread.

Just DM the passcode of the table on the users that apply and make sure to check if all the usernames that apply match on the actual number of participants to avoid cheating of multiple account.

I think I can join on this freeroll tournament. I hope there will be no proxy/bot players on this tournament.

This is a very valid suggestion - unless you’ll be okay with people joining with multiple accounts then you should consider this advice and see whoever shares his code with anyother account (if you decide to make the code unique for each accounts) that way you should be able to fish out those using multiple account to cheat the free rolls.

Not that if you just decide to share it publicly that they’ll be some that will want to create more account and see what they can get from the free rolls. The advice @AbuBhakar gave you will reduce the number of cheats but it will also reduce the number of participants because some might be hesitant to fill form to get the code.

As for the tournament, I’m not going to participate in this one - as I don’t yet have an android device to get the app needed.
