What would happen if everyone was allowed to be a masternode?

How can we check the number of Master nodes in the network for any coin?
I got the answer for this. We can check the masternodes in the network from the wallet itself. In the network details I could see the total Master nodes count there

If you want to make some back-of-the-envelope calculations about profitability of certain masternodes investment I would rather recommend using an online tool - MNrank.com or masternodes.online. Both list majority of existing masternode coins in nice detail.

What's the deal with all these masternode coins? Isn't it just a different way to provide Proof-of-Stake rewards?

Yeah sure it keeps the supply put aside to run the masternode, but this artificial supply decrease can only last as long as the market is in a bull trend. Once the market tops out... the house of cards are gonna fall so hard and people gonna wish they didn't have money stuck in masternodes making more coins that are dropping in value more than you can earn from rewards.
This guy forgot to say about the smart profits that the owners of knots receive in case of success of their coins and a rise in price.

this is a great idea because a project with masternode coins is skyrocketing, from what I see masternode has good potential.

As far as I know waves has node system, but I don't know if there is masternode system in waves blockchain. Maybe yes, then you can create it with 10,000 waves coins easily.

I also know that ethereum will bring node system instead of GPU mining. Also watch it carefully if you have capital to get started.

Triggers and Stratis as I remember have masternodes. For stratis I am not sure but triggers has them and if you hold 1500 of their coins you can make the masternode function ate

I know that dash has masternodes. Maybe a bout 3000 active ones?

I recently found Transfercoin which looks interesting. https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/txtransfer-bittrex-multipool-android-postormn-stealth-1203975

I think XC did.

I'm currently running one masternode for SagaCoin. Pretty stable and good returns now. I saw it will live at masternodes.pro soon, could bring up the price, waiting for it  Grin

Running Solaris (XLR) Masternode.. You will need 1000 coins (+/- 1200$) for it to run. Another option that is not active yet ZEn (Zencash). 42 coins needed . Around 900$

I want to also recommend Solaris xlr ... it has a very low supply too  Cool

If I'm not mistaken, ZCoin (XZC) also has masternodes. Not sure if they're available yet though.
