You are correct, I have been using coins.ph for years and I never had a big problem encountered during that long period of time, if you will ask me I am very much satisfied with their service. This exchange is regulated by the government so are protected because it will comply with the law of the Philippines, you can also benefits with the promos they have, don't worry you are safe here.

@coins.ph

Newbie here. Any guide to how exchange/transfer ETH to local bank/remittance centre?

Coins.ph doesn't support ETH. Only bitcoin.

But with the "splitting" issue, it is safer to transfer your bitcoins to a wallet where you can secure the private keys. Unfortunately, coins.ph is not that one.
Actually they just made a recent announcement and I think if you have a wallet in coins.ph you will surely receive an email
about the issue. They made an advance warning on what to do to be safe, read it carefully.

Hi, glad that you brought this up!

In the event that Bitcoin forks into multiple currencies, Coins.ph would work to safeguard our users' funds and closely follow whichever implementation(s) gain mainstream industry adoption.  Remember that Bitcoin has a long history of volatility and that the most surefire way to protect oneself from price uncertainty is to convert your Bitcoin to PHP in advance of when you anticipate a split.

Furthermore, if you want full control of your Bitcoin through any potential splits, you may also consider moving your Bitcoin to an external wallet that allows you to hold your own private keys, although that also comes with its own set of risks.

Here's our recent blog post on how we will handle the possibility of a fork in the bitcoin network: https://coins.ph/blog/possible-disruption-to-the-bitcoin-network/

If you have any questions, feel free to ask the team at [email protected]! Cheesy

I guess that is the only option if you want to secure your money, unless you want to take risk and hoard for a little while. No one really knows what the outcome of this hard fork might bring us.

Ang pinili ng miners ay BIP91 to implement the Segwit2x and if ma abot natin 80% support then wala na tayong split and sigurado mag skyrocket ulit price ng bitcoin.

Thanks

hi sir, new about crypto and bitcoin here. And about my research aware na ako sa Hard fork na mangyayari. so tama ba pag kakaintindi ko sa suggestion niyo na mas maganda mag convert ng peso to bitcoin BEFORE August 1? planning to do it this coming weekend
It is still advisable to hold your bitcoin and do not perform any transaction on, before and after August 1. You may transfer your coin to a wallet where you have the private keys. But kung gusto mo talagang mag-play safe, you have the second option to convert it to PHP. If you're planning to convert, maybe you should do it soon while the price in coins.ph is still high.

PS. Upon looking at the link given by ximply, I think parang hindi na matutuloy ang splitting.

Bukas ng 8am malalaman natin if nag lock in na BIP91.

Sya nga pala guys na hack parity wallet and nanakawan sila ng $37M worth of ether.

Para hindi maging off topic isama ko na coins.ph as one of the online wallet.
