CoinTerra;

Could we get an update please?   There are a couple milestone dates that should have passed.

ya you're right that was a bit out over the top, did anyone get offered more than double for Jan?
No no January units at all, I basically kept my original order and got a second unit that will come in March. So we will hash a little sooner than people who switched to all January units but we won't have as much hash power until March.  We also end up paying about 2k more but I think depending on how difficulty goes it should be more or less the same as having switched.  Maybe a little bit worse off, maybe a little bit better off, impossible to know until it happens with this so it seems fair.

I just want to say I spoke with CoinTerra on the phone this morning, and they made me a nice offer.

Even better, it sounds to me like they are trying to reach out to everyone with December orders. If that is true, I am very happy to have bought from them.
What was the offer i accepted a pretty nice offer myself back in October
Well my offer basically put me about on par with having switched to two January orders, maybe a little worse off but it's hard to say.  Still waiting on some sort of written confirmation but I think they're out for the holidays.

So basically you're getting you're getting double the order and switching to January?  Say you bought 2 in December, you're getting 8 in January?

I'm pretty sure you are miscalculating there...2 x 2 = 4 Tongue

Cointerra has been highly professional so far when dealing with them. I sleep well at night with my order.

I have an order with both and AMT and Cointerra.  I have no worries about cointerra.  They have posted pictures of their cases cases and prototypes. which seem to be a real well engineered product.  Those guys know what they are doign.  Now lets see them deliver.

When cointerra started they were not good on communicants which lead me to believe all of these companies were un responsive.

AMT has been the worst.  Nothing no one knows.

for my sake any everyone else who ordered i hope they are legit and can deliver. Its unsettling they have not commented on anything regarding the 1.2 to expect their chips might arrive.  We have been told many things but no evidence.

i don't count the 80 - 192 ghz miners.  Its all about the big miners with the A1 chip.  Show us some good stuff.

heck ill make a video and how to demos it i got my unit just show us something we can be excited for!!!!!

I can confirm my offer was the same as the offer testerx got, but I also have not received written confirmation yet.

That's awesome.  While Cointerra is working hard the day before Christmas Eve, other people like Ken Slaughter have shut down shop so they can get their drink on right through the holiday.  Meanwhile Hashfast sits at the computer all day trolling the forums, BFLjosh style.  Cointerra has win win written all over, they remain professional, show excellent customer service, and appear to be working very hard.  I am looking forward to what they bring us.  Cointerra is better than santa clause as far as I'm concerned.

Is it just me or is the only irate person in the CoinTerra thread the tireless promoter of a competitor?

Agreed.

Using the "ignore" now, as the noise is too much.

Looking forward to seeing the waves the CT products make in Q1 next year.

Crypto is the separation of Power and State.
Significant payments made to fab to expedite process from usual 90+ days to 65 days.

Chips expected back, early December.

Systems expected to begin shipping to customers, Mid December.

maybe time to seek refund of those payments
last update in november, no progress to update?

So it almost 10PM in Austin.

No confirmation of fabout/bumpout?

Oh wiat, let me guess...it was "expected" fabout, right?

It's very disturbing the official Cointerra account has been logging in all month, but hasn't made a post since this disinformation in November:

how's the chip and PCB coming along? Still on track? Smiley

Silicon and PCB are coming along well. It's on track. There will be more updates in the coming weeks..

So much for "on track."  So much for "more updates in the coming weeks."

Cointerra only found out on Nov 30 they had no hope of Dec shipping?  Seems legit...  Cheesy

Here, in chronological order, is everything I could find Cointerra saying about their "expected" "December" batch.

As you have noticed, their AWOL official account hasn't made a peep about their failure to deliver in 2013.

You have to dig though their press releases to find that morsel of disappointment.

"December this year"

"expected to begin shipping to customers, Mid December".

"on track for our delivery times"

"still very much on track for our presented delivery time"

"still on time table for our production"

"fabout of the first wafers is scheduled to occur on December 17th"

Are you going to ask Cointerra to refund you in USD or BTC?

Or more likely everyone's fab got bumped for a much much larger customer. It seems more probable this is what happened since the 2 companies i mentioned both posted notice around Dec 10.

Just  fyi seems like Global foundries is a little behind.

See notice from btimine about thier chip from GF. http://bitmine.ch/?p=4192
See notice from BFL( they also used GF in the past, but they havent specified who is fabbbing gen2 chips). https://forums.butterflylabs.com/announcements/4414-monarch-information.html#post69562

Doesn't necessarily mean cointerra's chip is delayed as well but it certainly is possible.

maybe theyre behind because cointerras are expedited and theyre ahead of everyone else  Tongue

so bumpout is today right?  What happens after this?

Yes today is bumpout day, I'm curious to know what's next as well.

I believe the next step is actually getting the chips, isn't it?
