You cannot bulk edit or import the asset values and our custom CSV import does not support all transaction types yet.
But you can bulk import "mining" (in) or "spend" (out) transactions via our Excel Template and the Excel Importer (https://cointracking.info/import/import_xls/).

Is there a way to bulk import a CSV file with spend/receive attributes? The default bulk import option seems to classify each transaction as a trade. Thanks for any help, hoping to avoid a manual import line by line for mining rewards...

Can you please guide me in the right direction for the suggested method of tracking long or short call/put options that are either exercised or go expired?  I trade on LedgerX (now FTX) and I'm having difficulty determining the proper accounting instructions.  Thank you

They would be different if you take other prices from other sources. We take them from ours as described here: Fiat, coin and commodities price sources, individual exchange price, change Fiat account currency (https://cointracking.freshdesk.com/a/solutions/articles/29000007214?lang=en)

Happy and prosperous new year to everyone.

It is price times (*) amount of your coins. Either on sell or buy site.

So if you are manually calculating the purchase value and sale value for a trade, the numbers would always be the same then, no?  If not, when would they be different?

@14kvision
It is normal and okay as on the price sources a coin pair has never the same value. See this FAQ "Coin Price / Value Does Not Seem Correct" (https://cointracking.freshdesk.com/a/solutions/articles/29000018057?lang=en)

So what exactly is the Purchase Value and Sale Value then?  If I were to enter a trade manually for instance, how do I calculate the Purchase Value and Sale Value of a trade manually?

Can someone please help me understand how CoinTracking is coming up with the "Purchase Value" and the "Sale Value", as I think it's wrong.

For example:

Trade
Buy: 125 LINK
Sell: 2721.848 USD
Trading Fee: 4.348 USD

CoinTracking is listing the values as follows:

Purchase value in USD: 2821.91677007
Sale value in USD: 2721.848

Why is the purchase value higher than the sale value?  If I paid $2721.84 for 125 LINK with a fee of $4.348, shouldn't the purchase value and the sale value be the same??  I'm so confused!

@trad3rsteve
We did improve it yesterday. So please try now again as it should work fine. If not let us know via Ticket/E-Mail mentioning your account name there.

Hi there,

When i create a new Kucoin Futures API job, I immediately receive this error upon creating the job:

(Error: Too many requests in a short period of time, please retry later)

Would this occur if I have a number of transactions?

@St.Stephan
We suggest to use API V2 for Binance and the BETA CSV importer. This will lead to best results according our feedback we get.
But if you miss only those card transaction then you could proceed as you described importing only those after editing the file.

@lerp
I could add a custom price and modify the asset value: https://cointracking.freshdesk.com/a/solutions/articles/29000038312?lang=en
And you would add a "lost" transaction for the amount you have lost.

Thanks Andreas. Merry xmas!

Hi Everyone, sorry if this has been answered before, but using the search is slightly cumbersome.

I went through a meme coin phase, and I'm trying to input these for tax purposes, as I mainly lost money.

How can coins not listed be entered?

And also since I can't sell them, as some have gone to zero due to rugpulls, how can enter this? As a Fraud?

Thanks for any input.

@St.Stephan
Please use API V2 together with BETA CSV importer. Binance should offer them in their "generate all statement CSV" which could be imported with BETA importer.
Otherwise you have to add them manually in any case

Thanks Andreas. If I understand correctly:

I manually import ONLY the card transactions, taken from the 'generate all' csv? That is delete everything except card transactions, and then import? That will play nice with my normal api job?

@rogain905
We would need to check your account individually. So it would be good if you send us an E-Mail to [email protected] and add your account name there beside describing the issue.

Hi,

I've started playing aroundw ith some of the reports in CoinTracking and I noticed that for roll forward/ audit report all the entries are blank when I expand them. Am I missing something in order to get more detail here?

Thanks

Hey guys - any way to keep track of purchases made with Binance Visa card? Each purchase creates a taxable event - must be a good way to do this?

Or does this happen automatically throught the api somehow?
