Next time I go to a televised game, I need to wear something flashy, and at the last second just flash my bitcoin sign lol.

I just realized something. What if the guy who posted the QR code on the web is actually posting his own QR code?

There was a 14 year old kid in my neighborhood who made 8.2k

What did he do?

Was it similar to this?

Whatever the case, that 14 year old is one lucky dude...

Smart move. Just by waving his address like that. Would not work with a normal bank account number Tongue

Interesting use case for Bitcoin. You don't see people holding up signs saying "donate to my bank account: xx-xxx-xxxx". Bank account numbers are considered much more private. And even if you did share your bank details, it would take days for anyone to send an inter-bank transfer.

With Bitcoin though, it's easy to give & receive anonymous and (essentially) instant donations. No strings attached. Seems like the perfect tool for the job.

Bitcoin is indeed one of the best ways organizations can solicit no-strings attached donations. Now we just need some of them to start accepting BTC as payment...

Very clever. Not sure it was $22,000 of clever, though.
