Hail Eris!
This might be a good direction to go for coins.  We see with ideas like GPUCoin the potential for coins backed by actual goods and services.
Colorado and Washington (washingtonian here) will become largest tourist attractions and there will be a lot of money involved.
If you can somehow offer discounts by the way of free ColoradoGold which customers can use to purchase merchandise easily then there will be a draw to it.

constructive criticism:  Edit your original post.  It gives off a unprofessional vibe. Also maybe work on it a little more before announcing, once again professionalism is important with a coin based on actual services and goods.  With fun hype coins it is one thing, but with coins involving actual businesses it is another.

It looks like you spent some time trying to find a niche.  It'll be interesting to see what type of momentum you can generate with the ridiculous amount of alt projects coming out daily.

Looking forward to the release, really love those trees.

Sounds like you've actually put some thought into this which is nice to see these days!

Everyone:
Please don't post only "Count me in" the forum doesn't allow those posts anymore, thanks.

ColoradoGold is a fun, "shameless" effort to capture a hot moment, and then create lasting value.
It was definitely inspired by other events and I promise to clearly show how this project is unique, timely, and potentially worth a fortune, in both money and important things that money cannot buy.

Constructive criticism is welcomed:
Posting a "knee-jerk", thoughtless response is not OK, thank you.

There are many real gold mines and claims in beautiful Colorado.

Colorado will soon rise to a Major Global Tourist Destination since it is the first state to have legal pot for sale.
  • Colorado has casinos and Indian Tribes which are hungry for new types of promotional tokens, player rewards, secure payment options, etc.
  • The effect of a media blizzard related to MazaCoin, sent the price up 20x (2000%) in a few hours.
  • Imagine the media exposure for a grassroots effort in Colorado.
  • This is not a classic "pump and dump" project; You can pass some of the profits down to your grand-kids.
  • We will use "golden marketing" to get things rolling, but in the end value will come from enjoying a fun project and expecting the future is virtually limitless.

Let's not forget world class skiing
The first 5 people to post a picture of Colorado skiing will get ~$5 worth of ColoradoGold asap, and a 25% discount on any small to medium IPO purchase, or 10% off a Big Block of CO Gold.

Enough "talk" here is one real example of how ColoradoGold can be used:

1) Ski resorts offer food and cheap lodging to "ski bums" who work for little or no money in order to enjoy free lift tickets all season.
2) Which resort would you work at?
a) Come to MntPeak ski lodge and we will give you "food and cheap lodging plus almost no money"

b) Come to CO Paradise ski resort and we will give you "food and cheap lodging plus a little cash and you receive 35 ColoradoGold every week.
Paradise ski resort has more to offer, so they get the best workers.

Introducing the coGold Community Government

At the time of this writing the alt currency "movement" has serious problems, too numerous to waste time talking about. A huge event happened today which can change/improve us forever.

  • When the news broke about the Indian tribe using MazaCoin to better themselves, were traders at the exchange yelling "premined scamcoin" or were they investing in an obviously exciting story?
  • The Native American who started that project had a clear vision of something better.
  • I have a (experimental) proposal to strike a balance between Open Source Community sharing and rewarding the people who step up (with a rational self-interest) and say "Hey look at what we can do."

Balance has been mentioned:

Dark contains some light
Good contains at least a bit of evil
Participants in a community effort have some "selfishness"
etc.

Instead of just one project this post will be starting a twin effort, featuring at least 5 things never attempted before.

1) The coGold Community Government can be in charge of ColoradoGold when I step down after a transition period; If interested, the coGold Community Government might be in a position to expand into an exciting free-market experiment covering other projects.
2) Whales (large IPO investors) can only receive a limited amount early on, and much more over time (like a trust fund), so the 2 projects will not be damaged by the fear of whales "dumping" their large stash. Also our whales have an incentive to eventually fly to Colorado and visit some businesses regarding selling their Colorado products globally with a Galtcoin Business Incubator partnership.
3) finishing soon...
4) Small down payments even on large purchases...
edit ...finishing soon with the 5 things never attempted before

Coin Specs
Semi-rare and usable (i.e How about community input on 100M?, a little more than LTC and a lot more rare than FTC)

This rough draft will be updated ASAP.
In case you somehow didn't notice:
  • This thread is also the global [pre-ANN] thread for Galtcoin.....stay tuned for interesting developments.

Let's test the community spirit:
You can tip any amount please... even 0.0005 is OK (for example), but larger will feel good too

I have real-world experience in both business and Open Source, both are amazing. If you really believe in "community spirit", please show it with a semi-generous tip.
Thank you.
