Merit is provided for those who deserves to have. But it does not seem to be enforced because people who are selfish or otherwise give them to their friends or even their alts. Sadly because even your quality poster will not receive merit from people, I hope there are other ways to get merit.

The merit system is theoretically excellent, but in reality, it will be another misused idea!

Most everyone here has a valid point regarding the merit system. I totally agree on the repetitive threads and non-topics, which feel like a complete waste of time and effort. On the other hand, What i find truly positive about these threads are valid concernss, queries, suggestions, discussions and support. It is really heartening to see people helping, guiding each other without any personal constraint, and as such deserving of any such merit system. More than the language, which could be a problem for some, a sensible, topically valid response is what counts. So, though i empathize with the frustration of some with the merit system here, please be patient and grateful for a much better quality of posts, and continue sharing and learning in this, empathic community.

I've just gave 2 merits to a post a while ago because in my opinion it deserves a two thumbs up for making a very informative post. I still have 3 waiting for another deserving comment or topic here in the forum. We all know that there are repetitive and useless topics created here everyday so one must make an effort in creating worth reading topics before hitting the post button.

Haha true that.Truely there are still many people who don't even know what merit is.Even for the people who know about merit it will take some time to understand it better and mainly to keep aside their ego and start giving merit to others. So let's wait for a month or two and things will be alright.

Being rewarded with merits pretty much depends on the following steps:

1. Know what merit is, and what it is good for. I can see on the overall topic, and the replies to the topic that it is only a fraction of the people commenting here, who have taken the time to read up on the topic. Go visit the main topic in the meta section.

2. Write quality posts. This thread and replies are utter crap. I always urge people to read between the lines in order to fully understand what a quality post is. In this thread it is hard to read between the lines, as shit is dripping from one line to the next.

I fully agree that more merits should be given to the high quality posting people roaming the altcoin section. Fact is though that we're hard to spot.

Only fools and people who have alt accounts will give merit to an unintelligible thread or post just one liner, like you have created in this thread. Merit system is given to people who can provide clear information so that can be understood by readers. Be a useful person in this forum, provide clear information to people who read your post, and never cheat the system. I will be willing to give understanding to people who do not know the world of cryptocurrency in this forum.

I agree. It will take time before they will generously give out their merits to others.
I've given out most of the merits I had when the system started, and I've given a lot of them to users I've never heard of.  But read the replies in this thread.  Most of them are short, boring, poorly-constructed and thought out posts that after the first 6 words, I skip on down to the next one.  Those fuckers are never going to get merit, and I hope eventually they just give up and go away.

I responded in this thread back in January and pointed out some posts that don't deserve merit, but shitposters just cannot see what they're doing wrong, just like scammers can't see what they're doing wrong.  They keep on posting crap.  There's no point in explaining; people will learn eventually that they can't rank up by posting crap.

I agree. It will take time before they will generously give out their merits to others. Actually, I've seen a lot of quality posts here in the forum but 5 Smerits of mine is not enough to give them all. I hope others won't hesitate to give it to those who deserve it.

It's a dumb system that was created because too many people are ranking up and the signature campaigns are clogged. Soon there will be merit based campaigns with big payouts and most everyone will be locked out of them.

Your just wasting your time begging on waiting people to give you some merits. Note if you want to earn merits you need to increase your hardwork and creative on replying on so much thread and one day maybe someone will give you few merits

Is the only use case of merit giving to others? So the more merit a user has the higher reputation? Don't get the point here.

Maybe they can give merit to those people who deserve it. Whose post are good and have sense. If they like your answer. I think they can give you a merit. If not then better luck next time.
