@panjul - Yeah I know mate, there really does need to be some more technology brought into football. Referees can ruin games & cause teams heartbreak from poor decisions. I know we have goal line technology now but there should be some kind of 3rd eye brought in like in Rugby & Cricket.
Each manager gets maybe 2 calls to the eye in the sky (cameras) per game. It'd stop a lot of controversy & crap decisions by officials. I don't think FIFA & UEFA are interested in listening to any proposals for it though which is a shame.
One crappy decision from a referee or linesman can cost a team tens of millions if they get relegated or lose a final by that decision(s). We're in the 21st century, if the technology exists why not use it?
And in the end football dont need any referee again, just using camera or machine to rule the match. Or maybe the players are robot in future. Michael Platini have discussed it and stated that let football to be traditional game, no need expert technology in the match.
