I fancied seeing Brazil exiting the Copa America and it happened earlier today. Imo, they should've tried to close out that game in regular time. No Vini Junior in Brazil team yesterday meant no party. Their exit from the tournament only confirmed what Ronaldinho have been ranting about lately. Brazil is no where near where they used to be abd that's just sad to see. I watched the entirety of the second half and only Uruguay looked very serious about progressing forward.

I never imagined that the Brazil team would perform so poorly, because they had so many opportunities but failed to capitalize on them. Tribaker was where they failed too, my question is why did Brazil team fail after so many opportunities. In the past, the Brazilian team was the most aggressive and strong, but why did they perform so poorly in this Copa America?
I am actually surprised they didn't exit the tournament much earlier. They have been completely horrible for quite a number of tournaments now, despite have very great budding talents. Argentina has got to enjoy the spotlight given the decline shown by their major Arch rivals.If there's any team that is going to try and stop Argentina, It is Colombia.

On the other hand, the Uruguay national team have a precedent and antecedent of high-performance in the Copa America Cup. They are not your regular national team for a while now. Before you play with them, you need to be ready to face them head-on and win. This is one aspect of the team I so much respect with them. I have envisaged the Uruguay team to reach the final as against the chances of Brazil. While the Uruguay player Nandez was served a red card towards the end of the match, that did not reduce their performance in winning the quarter finals.

Was at first having issues with where in particular to drop this but then since it's coming from a personality from the South America I felt this should be the right place for this.
After carefully reading what Marcelo Bielsa said and contrasting it with the perspective today about how football games in tournament's, leagues in the world has been viewed and given priority akin to the team's and players over others, one will be persuaded to agree with Bielsa about the future of football among other sports.

In that last game, against Uruguay, I don't think they had a bad performance, they played well, but Urugay had a very strong defense. And when it went to penalties, unfortunately I was no longer rooting for Brazil, because historically I know that they are bad at penalties and I don't even remember when was the last time they beat another team in a penalty shootout.
However, Brazil could have avoided this clash against Uruguay if they had beaten Colombia in the previous match, and then yes, I agree with you... they played very badly, missed a lot of passes and could have beaten Colombia if they had only had better control of the game.
Anyway, I think Brazil still needs to improve a lot, I hope coach Dorival Jr. prepares the Brazilian team better for the World Cup.

Brazil has come too far, this team is very, very bad, I can say without a shadow of a doubt that it is the worst Brazilian team of all time, it has many mediocre players and others that are overrated, they are common players from small teams that don't have conditions to play in competitive teams. There's nothing that can be done, this generation of players is very bad, maybe in a few decades another good team will emerge, but this generation: no chance.

They started the competition poorly and was unable to win their quarter final match against Uruguay yesterday with the good players that they have. The match was very boring and was roo aggressive to the point that I slept off as I was watching the second half because it did not expect it to be a match of an eye for an eye. They have a weak generation that doesn't play football for their nation and they play football for themselves and no wonder they lost. There are too many ego's in that team to actually carry Brazil towards an international title or even Copa America and if something big won't change for them , I'm afraid they will have the same result in World Cup 2026 too.
On the other side , we most likely have the most talented team of Uruguay right now and I do think they will emerge victorious and lift Copa America.

With the performance like these things are never been ideal for the Brazil because they are already going from bad to worse, and they are having some strong strategy and technique for having improved results which are brought them back into top competition we have red card for the Uruguay player in 74th minute which give good advantage to Brazil for having their path to win, but their attack completely fails to take advantage and having goal without any doubt this is going to be huge concern for them to have changes and try to work for better results before it's gone too late.Now we have four teams for the semifinals with Argentina are going to face Canada and Columbia which thrash Paraguay going to face Uruguay with this match is going to be had some good stuff for the fans because both are level in quality and performance.
The tension of the match is very tight and I think some players will get injured due to more physical contact, this is also the reason why there are red cards in the match. Brazil lost on penalties when they no longer had good players to kick because of the rotation they had done, as a result they had to pay a heavy price by going home early.
No doubt, Uruguay played a better game than Brazil but they could not score in the normal time so the game has to be decided via penalties. Brazil did had more of the ball possession (58%) but they played a defensive game. You can see the body language of the both teams and Uruguay should be a clear winner and they are now going to the Semi finals of the Copa America.
Uruguay won the match in penalties and all credit goes to their Goal keeper Sergio Rochet. It was a very tense match and and so is the every knock out match that ends on penalties.
The fact that Brazil could stumble was clear from the very beginning (just like Argentina and the teams that play at the Euro, there were too many victories for favorites in shootouts), but the fact that this still happened ruined interest in the tournament. It’s sad, but the result is already 99% known: in the final we will see Argentina win over Uruguay.

Now they face Colombia. That'll be another war. Colombia has a formidable team, as shown. Uruguay has that winning mindset. Not shy in the spotlight. Under pressure, they excel. That may make the difference.
There is no doubt that Colombia is a very strong team. Colombia players performed well against Brazil. The bonding between the players in this team is also strong.

Already the Brazil legend Ronaldinho already said it that the supposed Brazil squad is the weakest of them all and that's why he said they are performance will be poor and indeed his predictions were right because the Brazil team that we used to know will never have performed so poorly and even lost at this early stage although it was a penalty shoot out which is purely based on luck.I would say Brazil only lost because of their bad match. Brazil's match tactics and formation are all problematic. I don't know why Brazil chose Dorival Junior as their coach. Perhaps he himself is not aware of what Dorival's work is. Dorival may not have seen past performances of Vini and Rodrygo. We saw how Ancelotti used Vini and Rodrygo. Although these two players performed well in Real Madrid, Vini and Rodrygo could not play well in Brazil due to bad formation and bad tactics.
I never expected to see Endrick in the starting XI as a replacement for Vini. Endrick is a talented player. However, Endrick is not experienced enough to be in Brazil's starting XI in such a high voltage match. Gabriel Martinelli should have been used instead of Endrick.

No doubt Argentina is the favorite to win this quarterfinal and if somehow Ecuador manages to win that it will be a big upset. Also Argentina will want to win this Copa America 2024 as they already hold the Fifa World Cup title with them that they won in Qatar in 2022.
