Basically, almost every major competition are getting stopped.
Not good enough, thought by now all major football tournament will be stopped since it's more of a contact sport filled with audience in their thousands creating a more favourable environment for the Corona virus to be distributed to as much individuals as possible but I'm not impressed. Seems like the governing body of this leagues are more interested in the profit to be made then the health of the fans, players and employees of the stadium this matches are been played in.
I know "the show must go on" but when human health are at risk, the number one priority of any body overseeing any gathering or event should be to keep we (humans) safe from harm. Irrespective of how negative such decision will have to their business our life's is more important.
Most of the gamblers are betting in the NBA because people really like watching and playing basketball. There are many fan of basketball that's why when they know that NBA will suspend all of its game, people are unhappy because of that. Covid-19 can be easily transmitted transmitted because the virus stay at any places and it is microscopic so it is not easy to notice. Gamblers can only bet in a game like dice, roulette, and etc., as of now because we need to understand the situation now. There are many option in gambling, we should not only rely on the sports betting if we really like gambling. Health is important than money, and what is the sense of money if your life is at risk. I believe that health first before anything else. Keep safe everyone.

because crowded place/event is prone to this virus so organizer are cancelling the events or suffer the consequences .and look at the bigger events above that has cancellation so what more event like this one.

In my opinion, all sports events around the world need to be halted for a period of time regardless of the losses that they could incur since health is 1st priority always. This virus has the potential to turn into the deadly Influenza virus of 1918 if we aren't careful.
IPL(India Premier League) 2020 is a million dollar league which is conducted annually and I am hoping that they suspend it this time around(Closed doors rumors). Major conferences like GDC 2020 and E3 2020 have been shuttered too.

There are so many events that has been cancelled because of this virus,
But it was for the best because it is for the safety of everyone they should prioritize the health of everyone since those event could always continue once the virus is cured,
But the life of those who would be lost because of the virus could never come back.

Exactly. People shouldn't worry about the canceling, it's definitely for everyone's good. If this affect your favorite players, it will probably affect the club chance of competiting well. Hopefully the players/clubs and their huge fans don't get involved in other things that encourage the spread of the virus.
Lest I forget:
Buy sufficient foods, eat healthy, drink lots safe drinking water, avoid "bad things", change your bad ways(repent). If you believe in a true CREATOR, pray, humble yourself, and ask him for forgiveness, & to guide you to know the truth/the way, I strongly believe HE will guide you if you trust HIM. Don't allow fear ruin your life, though be cautious about harmful things.... You will be kept safe no matter how dangerous your surroundings is
This event postponing is the only way to go because the disease has been declared pandemic, plus this games could wait, they do not want to risk their personnel, players and attending audiences contracting and spreading the virus just for entertainment and sports. Safety is the number one priority right now. I think a lot of people could agree on the fact that this contagion is threatening. On the brighter side, this can help in making a rest and recuperation for the players because they are going to need that when this problem is over for millions of hyped fans who is excited for this events
this is the first time that almost all of the basketball event was cancelled ,there are many cases of virus comes from the past but only Corona Virus make all this happen.

However the google result shows that Barcelona vs Napoli and Chelsea vs Bayern might happen but I find it hard to believe especially when today one of the Chelsea players was found positive with the virus and training was cancelled. I have doubts in Barcelona vs Napoli too btw.

I heard about from The Guardian news about The Juventus defender Daniele Rugani has tested positive for Coronavirus, the Serie A club said on Wednesday.

Upcoming UFC fights are affected. Though it was not postponed but based on what I've understand the fights will continue however there will be no spectators on the given setting at all. Sadly, the impact of the virus to sports events does not only refer to cancelled or postponed games. So far, we have already athletes who are themselves infected with COVID-19. Earlier, we had Utah Jazz's player Rudy Gobert. It was immediately followed by a teammate in Donovan Mitchell who also tested positive of the infection.
Other than these NBA players, we also have COVID-19 victims in football. Daniele Rugani of Juventus tested positive of the virus. Arsenal has also reported that their manager Mikel Arteta is also infected with the same.

To be honest this thread may be a dead duck anyway. I’m watching a bit of the sports news now and I reckon within 24-48 hrs every sporting event is gonna be cancelled or at the very least postponed !
like what you said watching news now are all cancelling from sports and even Schools,Here in my Place we will be having a 1 month Lockdown from march 15-April 14 so expect more of this ,anyway this is for our own safeties so lets just Go with the Flow to keep safer.
I thought the Olympics 2020 will be canceled due to the pandemic virus but the event pushes through. They are now in the first phase of the relay. Still on ceremony part and no games yet but are they really going to push this or they will just finish the traditional ceremony but no games will be played after that until the virus infection calms down a bit and became controllable.
I think there is lot of time till Olympics (3-4 months is a lot) . It is going to happen in last week of July. Maybe situation gets better by then. I think proper decision will be made 1 month before the schedule. However their organizing committee president have hinted that delay could happen but I think they are waiting to see how it goes on for now.

i notice that only basketball and soccer are mainly affected with the virus problem but why not other sports like swimming , tennin ,volleyball or others ? maybe because nba and soccer are the most popular in which many people are going to attend it than on other sports .
The number of audiences is just the same. It's just that basketball and soccer are all-year sports so they are the ones always at the sports media news.
