These bad guys are trying to fool people with corona virus. It is crazy that they do so, so many people have now died from the virus and will continue to increase in the future. If they can't help the whole world, then they should not be scammed like that, hoping they will be caught and punished.

I am not surprised that scammers decided to deceive people in this way.

they will find a way to scam people , this coronavirus threat is also big opportunity for them by faking a donation, 1 people donate will be a big funds for them since they are claiming they are WHO representative . Which we all know many people need help in terms of health world wide now.
Mosty WHO will only ask for donation like medicines and other medical services and there is no way they will ask for bitcoin so always be careful for your money think twice before sending.
Scammers are always scammers and they will surely show up whenever there is an opportunity to scam other people they surely will. I also receive tons of emails that are asking for donations to help eliminate Corona virus all over the world, I don't know why those kinds of people do this thing during an epidemic not knowing that they might also be a victim of this virus. Sad

Even there is a virus spreading still the scammers need to work and they use this to take advantage to other people because there are some people would like to help others by just donating some funds and they use this to scam other people it is better if we are donating our funds into legit website or platform or it is more efficient if we find some nonprofit organization and that is legit than trusting those emails came from different users.
That's definitely correct if someone wants to help and donate be sure to donate only on trusted websites or people and if you can donate directly it is better that donating online. Scammers are everywhere as long as they see an opportunity to scam people they will surely do it, that's why everyone should be vigilant these days.

Disgusts me that people are actually using the current pandemic as an avenue to further their scammy schemees. Shame on those people who doesn't have even half a heart to what's happening to the world currently. Anyway, since you brought forth a scam masked in the form of donation, if other members could also post anything of the likes here in this thread for it to be compiled, that would be great. The last thing we need in these trying times are scammers who are using the name of charity in order to dupe people into donating into their own pockets.

It's a common method of a fraudster, so people should be aware enough that some online information can't be trusted. A lot of people are suffering because of COVID-19 however, it doesn't stop fraudsters to continue on taking advantage of other people's suffering for their own benefits. Anyway, you can find a better way to donate for people in need by watching news because they usually show the list where to send donations. Don't be swayed by the email, try doing some research to ensure that it's legit, because it has specific purpose.

It's really sad to see despite all the crisis and trouble happening to world, many people are still taking advantage to it. Even WHO is suffering tons of Cyber attacks i suspect they want to sell those precious data to the highest bidder in the Darkweb and some might disrupt the research to the vaccine recently a research facility in Britain got hacked, the hackers want to put ransomware to the data.

Very concerned indeed with the conditions that occur today where the coronavirus is growing almost all over the world, but some people take advantage of this by making a donation system as their own benefit, of course this needs to be careful if we want to give some coins to help the people victim.

I do understand scammer uses the coronavirus after see its impacts that leads people to be willing to donate to help others because the problem is too big. that why I suggested the safe way on how people will find trusted people to do that my topic shows how, although some say it's impossible  due to rules on Bitcointalk

Read suggestion on:: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/how-about-bitcointalk-raise-money-in-btc-to-donate-on-fight-against-coronavirus-5234684
but Only fool will believe that a simple email is legit enough to ask for donation when every single institutions in our community is asking for our donation so why bother helping those email sender?

we can Help our own community because the whole world now are suffering and we dont need to go outside our cities to find someone to donate for.

my family packing at least 4-6 packs of relief goods every time i go to grocery and gave those to the poor family near us.this is the small help we can give because we are also short in Budget because of quarantine.

Definitely, COVID-19 affected so many lives and works of many people so scammers will use this situation because they know that there are so many affected people by the virus and they know that someone will take his or her offers, such as they will give some link or anything.

Scammers are scammers, they are so wise on fooling so many people so always be careful.

Always check the website of the offered link of anonymous person, search about it and read some reviews about the website.

Great to see this share. Not wondering how this is new junk that is coming our way.

People are so much hard heartful that they will do anything for earning money these days. Now as the coronavirus situation is getting more critical they will start shooting such emotional e-mails to everyone and will try to get money from them.

Sending Email to ask for donation is a Flag for me and will never give a damn reading it thoroughly for sure i will delete this automatic if i received 1.

this is normal when there are big issues going on worldwide, these scammers and hackers will take advantage and since people are worrying and concern they can be easily mislead by them.

first why need to donate for others when your community needs the help most?just fund the community and let them help people near you because this is domino effect and other community will do what you guys did on yours.

Yes the first action shall be same one as quoted above. "Never ever click the email itself". I would also straight away put them in spam box. Will apply the filter first and any upcoming emails would be diverted automatically.

Some people are just too inhumane, extorting a global pandemic to scam people.  This is bad.

Thanks for the info.

You guys know when something smells bullshit or fishy when they are directly contacting your e-mail for donation because there is no such organization that will do that and I hope many people here are smart enough not to be scammed.

What a shame. Using corona virus just to get bitcoin from other people because of this pandemic is really a shame. Why do such people exist? Many people are greedy and does not choose any time to be so. Such a pity to them being such kind of jerks to times like this where in fact we should stay together as one and not to take advantage of each other.

That's funny cause i also got two mail from scammers who want some donation because of corona crisis. Cheesy
That's shame. The world is suffering and they are not stop to get people scam. It's sounds rude or selfish but i wish corona attack those scammers whom scam innocent people in this situation. Do not click unknown link from your email account. Specially this kinda. You'll try to help those helpless people but scammers will scam you. If you really want to help then do it manually or check before you are doing right or not. Stay safe and try to encourage your near people about corona.
