Everything here was very unexpected, so as the market became so unpredictable it really create more speculations. Most certain cases would come to our minds, whether bitcoin price go up or down, of course we're getting used to it for such a long time.
All I am hoping for now, is that there a significant increase sooner which can be more brilliant than 2017.

nobody knows about that. because crypto is fluctuating. Bitcoin can be worth 0 or more than last 2017. but I personally base the value of bitcoin with economic theory. that the more scarce an item is to be obtained, the more expensive the price will be. so Bitcoin will have prices over 2017 when halving is done. that in my opinion.

Anything is possible in the cryptocurrency market, it is likely that Bitcoin will rise to $ 20k tomorrow or it will die. At the moment there are many conflicting predictions made and every prediction has a chance to come true. But if there's an investigation I guess as many as 80% of forum members believe that by 2020 bitcoin will start a big bull run.
In my opinion you should consider bitcoin as a speculation and never invest too much in bitcoin.

Hi everyone, I'm new to the platform and a new crypto-currency lover and passionate about blockchain technology. I have lots of ideas and questions about crypto currencies and my first one, could Bitcoin see its value increase as much as in 2017? Thank you

You hide behind your main account, boring.
You registered this month and this year, but you already know a lot about Bitcoin in 2017 and also experience in cryptocurrency.

creating a new account and asking as if you were new here.

Frequently asked questions by many members here.
Are there no questions that can add knowledge about Bitcoin right now. Lol.

Bitcoin will go up beyond 2017 prices, just wait.
Oh yes, don't forget to buy half a bitcoin from a supply of 21 million pieces, you buy 10.5 million Bitcoin, so the price exceeds the price in 2017.

I think everybody here wants to say "yes" and me too  Grin. just look back when it was 2013 , bitcoin was made the world surprise due to the price was pumping so hard after halving. and it also happened in 2017 after bitcoin halving. and again, do we must be a watcher again until the price will go crazy after halving then buy it from now? I hope you already found the answer

To be honest, no one really know's what the future will bring to us. Everyone here wishes to experience and see another bull run like in 2017. But you have to keep in mind that  (1) crypto market is very volatile and unpredictable (2) it is a speculative asset, there could be people behind that can manipulate the price. The only thing that can potentially push the ecosystem in the block halving in 2020. And that is what people are waiting that can start a bull run and see another price boost similar to 2017. But the price won't go to $20k overnight, it might takes months or years.

yes, I agree with you, actually nobody knows for sure whether bitcoin can pump like 2017 or not. most people believe that bitcoin will pump after being reduced by half as in the previous history of bitcoin. but I think the current condition of the crypto market is different from the conditions of the crypto market in the past. so I think even though bitcoin is reduced by half not necessarily bitcoin will increase. we can only speculate and the time will answer it. hopefully in 2020 bitcoin can pump up to our expectations.

You heard it right that nobody knows, if the increase is possible we will not be seeing the 4 digit price and it won’t go downward. Its like any investment that has no assurance but all you can do is hope.

All those struggling in the cryptocurrency world say that the price of Bitcoin after halving will be higher than in 2017, but all is just speculation. exactly at what price we never know. however, when speaking Halving according to calculations that the Bitcoin supply will decrease and it has an effect on the price of Bitcoin of course

It's more likely the bull run does come between 2020 and 2021 because crypto has never had so many developers working on solutions all at once. If ever another bull run happens I would probably sell everything i am holding and spend half of it then wait for another price dump and reinvest the other half.
Holidays are coming I hope you don't spend it this year and plan to reinvest in 2020.
Bull run comes once in a while when the market is ready and it is not going to happen in 2020.
After the Bitcoin halving the effect of it will take a certain amount of time to charge up the market and ready to explode.
Just look at the history of halving of Bitcoin and you will know what I am talking about.

History does not always have to repeat itself. There are many more investors on the cryptocurrency market than there were during previous halvings. It is possible that many of them will start preparing for the bull run much sooner and start buying even now. It doesn't matter for daytraders, but for a long-term investment, this month may be the best time to buy. If this happens and investors start buying now, the accumulation period will be longer and in my opinion the bull run will be much stronger than in 2017.
You can't say no to this because the evidence is very clear whether you like it or not. There's no certain or right time to buy because we can't see the future but we can predict by looking at the recent events. Just buy as long as you have the money and never think of a greedy mindset to wait for more dip because it will lead to a destruction or regret of the choices.

The price may go back to $19000, but from what I am seeing the increase is being gradual, which is very good for not having those high increases and after a week we have a big price drop. Another thing, we should not look at 2017 as a normal year, what we saw was a pump and dump. I think in 2 years we'll see the price of $19000 again

Why 19k and not 20? If we go back to the previous ATH there's a high probability of breaking through.
3 years to 19k is quite a bearish prediction. Maybe I'm just too bullish but this is how it looks to me. What are we going to do for the whole 2020? A sideways trend for almost 2 years? That would be incredibly boring and very improbable since Bitcoin is a volatile asset.

I think that we'll have a bull market by the end of 2020. 6 months after the halving we'll either be above 10k or in a bear market again.

I think the biggest question of all who speculate on the cryptocurrency market is what will happen after halving in 2020. Everyone expects the story to repeat itself and the Bitcoin price will be skyrocketing. I think so too. Bitcoin still has enormous potential, and even if halving is not a trigger, then general adoption will definitely lead to the price rising over time. If the situation from 2017 does not happen again immediately after halving, I think it will happen in 2021 or 2022 ..
I think if you are old enough on this forum you already know that bitcoin halving will not immediately take effect after its halving. The history reveals that halving will always take a year or more before the bull market start. It is probably going to happen in 2021 and not in 2020.

We can't be sure when exactly the bull run will start. It would not be a surprise for me if investors having experience from past, that the best time to buy is before halving, will started buying now. Such a situation could accelerate the arrival of the bull run.
Dude just look at the previous halving records and you will understand what i was talking about. Bitcoin halving will not generate in 2020 and it is proven and tested already in the past. It would be better to accumulate now since the price is in real dip if you have the money.

Definitely the price will surely in dip after the halving and as you are saying that it will take effect after a year the price will still plummet and it will just go bounce back again maybe after a year of halving is completed.

Also accumulating of bitcoin is a must and the price could goes bryond the ATH of year 2017. Let's just wait on what will be the future value.
This is what I've been talking about and i do respect everyone's speculation but the fact that history will always repeat itself. There is a bloodbath coming in crypto next year and i can sense it after that halving. I hope it's not that worse than what I've imagine. Bull market is far from our doorstep yet it's better to understand the flow of the market to help us gain what we are planning to get.

I think before it is happen, people is free to speculate. Maybe instead of argue we can use both speculation about halving will directly trigger bull run or maybe still need more time after halving for bull run to come. With that maybe you both can get better result, and most important of it, maybe respect other's speculation is better.

However the increase will definitely happen again in the future, whether it will happen in the near future or even for a longer time. So in this case I think the increase is no doubt because it will definitely happen, whether it will happen gradually or even a fast pump. Be prepared to be patient longer if you are really obsessed with high prices in this market, and convince yourself not to panic when the situation suddenly gets very bad in the market, because I only believe the crypto season will comes.

The question is, do you want to know if it could go up just like 2017 where it went up as much as 20+ times (started at 700 dollars, peaked at $20k) or do you want to know if it could be 20 thousand dollars only?

Because, if the question is, will bitcoin ever do another 20x in a month, that I think will not happen, that was one time thing and I hope it happens again but it is quite difficult and hard to achieve, however if you want to know if bitcoin could go to 20 thousand dollars, that is just 3x from this price and not impossible, it could go to 20 thousand dollars easily with one huge hype. You have to ask yourself which one you want to learn, which one you want to know about. If it is 20x, that is not gonna happen, if it is $20k, that will surely one day happen.

Well, $400k is maybe asking a little too much. The mass is just bigger, thus the inertia is much bigger to move the market. On the other hand, we have plenty of institutional money on the sidelines who can't enter the market just yet.

all of that is still predictive, but there is a possibility that this could happen again. if the price is not as good as 2017, but there is a possibility the price will approach that. In 2017 the price of bitcoin rose due to halving, and in 2020 halving will again occur and make a reduction in the number of mines from bitcoin. it can make the price of bitcoin pump higher like 2017.
