Do not die for Putin
I just saw the latest video of Putin showing himself on a music concert. If it weren't in a middle of a war it would just be ridiculous. The guy goes to an event and tries to make it look like people supporting him just to show the middle finger to the West or try to appear strong.

One of the funniest things is that the images of two young ladies teens apparently "in trance" were taken from images from last year event! That is simply so stupid! The KGB would not be proud of you VP!

An another event to add to the tragic comedy of last days: These are the Russian astronauts in the ISS. These guys got real balls!

Yeah, in recent days there is lot of reports about people leaving their jobs in state owned media. But numbers isn't significant and none of them aren't big names in Russia.
About Ovsyannikova, I would be very surprised if she will end just 30k rubles fine.
It's said that the 30K rubles fine is just for the video she prerecorded calling on people to protest right before she went with that poster on a live News Broadcast, so obviously there is more to come for her if they are to persecute her for the TV incident.

BTW, there is conspiracy theory that whole this story is fake and it was scripted by Channel One:
https://mobile.twitter.com/mara_ampora/status/1503525518125240320
Or the same conspiracy theory could have been spiraled up by the same state media to make the whole poster protest thing less believable  Grin

how is putin suppossed to accept the genocide in donbass that happened over 8 years and that he continously warned and told off in international media?

seriously imagine you are living in russia you leadership started a war to end a genocide on your border, and some people laugh about it.

how is the west allowed to support genocidal regimes?

Rumor has it - well, many rumors and some seem to be confirmed - that quite a few reporters and hosts and other "media personalities" are quitting major Russian TV channels.

Meanwhile Marina Ovsyannikova (the woman with the poster on live TV) was interrogated for 14 hours without a lawyer and fined 30k rubles (that's about 300 kilos of sugar in stable currency) but may still face criminal charges.

Car accident, heart or digestive issues. That is how she is going to die if she does not hide somewhere in the West.

How about this - live on news broadcast on the main propaganda channel:

A+ for the effort.
That's serious stuff. And she isn't random stranger, she worked in Channel One as news editor for long years already. And she also made video on Facebook, explaining her position:
https://mobile.twitter.com/maxseddon/status/1503455183115886601?
She worked in propaganda machine for long time, but it's very brave decision to make such appearance, knowing that you may get in jail for long years after it.

There was another one where a woman was talking to a reporter and saying something along the lines of "I support" and from the context it sounded like she was going to say "I support the special operation", but the cosmonauts picked her up and dragged to the windowless bus regardless... just for being there.
Yeah, I posted that video somewhere yesterday. It summarizes current state of Russia very well.

If that image is true, that is not a crack but a f*ing sewer without a tap.

It's true, but the woman got arrested obviously, the TV channel pulled the video from the website, and other media that reported on it is being very vague - an "incident" with an "outsider" even though the woman is - was - an employee.

https://ria.ru/20220314/pervyy-1778170048.html

I saw today a video in which a woman show in the Red Square a minimal cardboard saying "Two Words", just like that , literally "two words" and ... well, I do not wan to spoil it for you guys so here is it. And this does not look like a fake an I think would be nearly impossible to create.

There might be cracks, but those are just fringe forces. Putin's popularity rose to 74.5% from 64% at the beginning of this war.
...

There is no single leader in the world with a 75% approval. That is simply no true. I do not doubt he has a good rating anyway, since all the media is controlled.

but I'm still confident that the sanctions won't stop Putin.
I have been thinking about this for awhile now, i know the sanctions have hit the Russian economy hard and there will still be more sanctions to be imposed which will affect the Russian econony even more, but it still doesn't look like Putin is going to withdraw his troops from Russia, could it be as a result of ego? Or is he trying his possible best not to look 'weak' in the eyes of the entire world? So let us take a situation were Putin vehemently refuses to stop, and Ukraine refuses to surrender, that could mean that the war will go on for as long as possible ('fight to the end'), that will mean a really devastating implication, we are already certain there will be no external military intervention, thus to what end is all of this going to be really?

Russians want to subjugate Ukraine, with or without Ukrainians.

So for all people who say, well, it is just one crazy guy, think again, or better yet, stop lying.

Most Russians hate the West. They feel that the West is weak, morally corrupt,  uneducated, spiritually devoid, artistically handicapped.

Russia is a proud Mongol nation. They are proud that they conquered other nations to create the landmass we all recognize as Russia.

There was this reporter on one of Russian TV channels who said something along the lines: "if you put a Z on your car, it increases the probability of your window getting smashed". Rumor has it that he was fired. I can't find the story now or verify that the firing really happened but that is the media landscape now in Russia. Cracks are quickly filled and everyone pretends that nothing happened. Gaslighting has been turned up to 11.

Edit - this dude: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ox0lu5P1LLA

Another example - even though protesters aren't really getting 15 years prison time, it's 5-10 days in jail typically or a 30k-50k ruble fine (250-400 USD) for first offence but the police are blocking off public squares and any other places where protests could gather, they're stopping, beating, and arresting people just walking by, arresting reporters who happen to film the beatings, illegally confiscating phones, that kind of shit. The goal is to nip in the bud so that they can keep pretending that nothing is going on.

I don't know yet what could create a big enough crack to make people realize who's at fault for their misery but I do hope it's coming.

Also surprised that they even dared to show a tiny bit of doubt on how well the government is handling the situation. Got more balls than most people in media really.

We don't know how long this conflict will last but just from seeing a few clips it seems many people (majority of Russians as well) do not support this war. If Russia suffer enough, they might eventually do something and the officials would end up following suit to keep with the "times".

Off to the gulag for him, I suppose.

The Putin propaganda machine is too strong to fail but it does appear that over the last week or so the sentiment is shifting. Even the staunch Putin loyalists aren't able to justify the invasion. Aligns well with the sanctions and major companies pulling out of Russia, but I'm still confident that the sanctions won't stop Putin. He's too far committed to make any concessions that don't involve either Zelenskyy's resignation (or assassination, for that matter) and Ukraine becoming a neutral country.

I've wondered how many hit squads Zelenskyy's been able to evade. I've seen numbers over a dozen. Putin must be getting impatient.

Gulag? There's no such thing! It's called REEDUCASHUN you bigot! /s

Yup, I too believe sanctions won't stop Putin but if his cronies suffer enough, they might eventually turn on him, as shadow cabinets tend to do when their interests are hurt.

putins ideology system is actually pretty though, if you oppose him the war or side with ukraine,

you are siding with fashists, neonazis, and genocidal supressors of people that seek liberty.
...

In your universe Putin is a freedom fighter? So he invaded Chechnya and Georgia to free the world sure. Seriously, there is a law stating that you cannot call war a war and that you cannot question the government or else face 15 years in prison. Survivors from Stalingrad, along with thousands of protesters got a criminal record and beatings. You need to review your definitions of tyranny, fascism and despotism.

You have a long story of post stating over and over Putin's official propaganda, I just want to let you know that there is no way you can convince well informed people of that kind of shit. You are not doing yourself a favour and you are definitely not doing a favour to the soldiers that are dying for Putin.

chechnya is not a normal state its like afghanistan, they are not interested in running their state muslim but only in causing trouble,

chechnya attack daggestan, in order to ensave the population there. it would have continued like that if not stopped.

secondly,

Georgia commited ethnic cleansing on south ossetians. the west is supporting completely corrupt regimes, if this continue EU will support taliban regimes, etc.

It's indeed not common to see such things on Russian TV recently. Until now they all were saying that ''special military operation'' is going as planned. Does that message means something and it can be sign of cracks - I'm not sure about it. We already heard message from oligarchs like Deripaska, Fridman and some others to end war. But nothing didn't happened after it.
Yesterday I read report from Ukraine intelligence that from all main personalities in Russia, only Putin and Shoigu still strongly support war in Ukraine. But problem that they barely can go against Putin. He is surrounded by like-minded officials who support his actions and don't tell real cost of war.
