Because the bank account that was used was her money, and the man or her boyfriend just had a clue because she did such a thing with the money. The zen way to be about a situation like this is grateful for the immediate clarity the lost lotto money brings. This was someone you might have lost money in a divorce to if accidentally missing the fact that the cash was more important then any other consideration in the relationship. To be fair to the winning partner in this argument it could also be quite coincidental that the relationship was already over by the time of the win and it made no difference in the end, it sure looks like that was not the case but its also possible that just the timing was off.
