Used to mine Litecoin on ASIC. Frankly, the yield per day did not exceed 12 $, and taking into account the cost of electricity -  8 $, not thick!
Now I'm thinking about the mastenodes, i've been watching the news about them for a while now. I'm trying to choose from three: GoByte, Zest and LUX.

Still, I'm looking towards the first coin - it's too tempting to hear the latest news about the decline in the cost of the transaction and the increase in profits for the owners of masternodes, which is not the case with other coins - they promise 70% of the award against 30% to the miners. It sounds attractive, and GoByte is not just another scam project - they've already collected the funds and the product is working. Guys, I need you help! Which coin would you prefer from these three and why?

I usually read bitcointalk for new coin announcements and i find when a coin is fresh it's profitable for like the first month with CPU mining, even with ASCI Algos. A lot of devs have also been producing Neoscrypt, Cryptonight, and even new algorithm coins, which when you get in early can be very profitable.

I normally don't jump in on coins that have been out for more than a year because as the difficulty rises it makes it hardly profitable with CPU unless you have a powerful one.

Right now the coin i am mining is called Raven, it uses a new algo called x16r with was released as a CPU only coin, but already a week in someone wrote the code for a GPU miner. Even so it is still profitable with CPU, in only a day i mined 700 coins using only two laptops and a Cloud Server. It hasn't even been listed on a exchange yet but when it does it will be very high at first.

This is how i usually CPU mine and it has been very good to me Smiley

For those who do not invest large sums in GPU and ASIC then that is great method (I'm also applying it)

For CPU mining, I prefer Monero (XMR) and Magi coin (XMG).

★Bitvest.io★ Play Plinko or Invest!
Electroneum can be mined with CPU, setting up is easy part, you can find description on their site, and there are few food videos on youtube. Now I did everything like in videos on youtube and miner start but I can't see my hash rate, I'm still looking what kind of problem I have. I hope I will solve it somehow, but Electroneum looks like nice altcoin, so there is a good suggestion, maybe some of you will have more luck with this. Good luck my friends.

HODL! If it isn't a grudge...
Maybe check out ROI-Coin

It is still very new, so profitability would be hard to predict. But the community and dev interaction is very active indeed
