So in the video on the first page, I saw coin mixing mentioned. I looked through about a third of the thread and didn't see a discussion on that. Can anyone elaborate on this at this time?
Yeah sure thing, we're looking to integrate it very soon.
Well that's fantastic. Thanks for the quick response. I like that you'd like to integrate soon as well. More on this, I'd like to know what coin-mixing means for this coin if you don't mind explaining. There are different ways to achieve mixing, and I am wondering which way you are moving toward?
Well that's the thing haha, we too have seen it done in many different ways and would like to optimize (can't think of a better term) the function of coin-mixing to fit Credits as best we can. We're definitely not going for any sort of Darkcoin vibe though.
It seems like everyone is trying to find the best way to go about implementing a mixing service. While I do think it has extreme benefits, there are also benefits to having traceable transactions. Personally, I think a mixed-coin transaction should be an option within the wallet rather than forced in every single transaction. Not sure if that's possible though.
As far as the anonymous aspect goes, people seem to get instantly spooked out about it. I'm not sure why, because when I put money in the bank and send money to pay bills though a credit card attached to that account . . it's the bank saying that that is my money going from point A to point B. Point B never knows for sure that it was the exact dollar from my wallet that ended up in their bank account, and doesn't care to. They just take the bank's word that it was my money. In a sense, I could see the same sort of thing appearing in forced mixed/anonymous crypto transactions. Of course, this could invite bank-like crypto currency organizations popping up if all transactions were forced-anonymous, leading to centralization of the currency.
Having the ability to track someone's transaction is just as valuable as being able to have an electronically-anonymous transaction in my book. I'd love to see a crypto where you have a choice to send anonymously or non-anonymously. It seems like everyone's leaning toward one or the other though, so maybe it's not possible to have both? I don't know enough about exactly how transactions occur though. It seems like anoncoin and darkcoin are dead set on having only purely anonymous transactions though, and not both . . and that's kind of turned me off to them.
