Not sure about boundaries but it's true that these days they make dead flat pitches so that we can see high scoring matches and seems like this WC will not be a different.
By the way, we have a WC prediction pool. It's free to join however you can chose to contribute if you want which is totally up to you. If you are interested to join us and want to have fun with us then feel free to join the pool.
The boundaries are short buddy than we had in the past, if Viv Richards had these small boundaries i cannot imagine how he could kill every bowler out of the park, just take a look the matches post 2000 every miss hit is going over the boundary rope, earlier there is no way they could get away as it will land in the fielders hand.
Sure buddy i will be joining your prediction pool and glad to see many people in the cricket thread now a days.
I don't think commercialization is a bad thing for a sports.
India is the largest market for cricket. IPL has increased the earning of a player by ten folds. If sports is an entertainment, they should deliver what the crowd wants. BCCI devises laws that would increase the number of viewers and advertisers.
Cricket is no longer a gentlemen game. They are just entertainers doing their job.
If you think high scoring games are important rather than having a battle between bowlers and batsmen then your version is right, there was a time when i used to watch cricket as a battle between quality players and only quality players could perform consistently but now a days every rules favor batsman and i am sure the players who average 50 now will not average above 35 in the past and so is the reason i hate comparing players in different generation.
