I would focus too in Casascius pieces.
Iconic .A piece of history. Not much to say.
By the way, any collectibles made during first years has a strong appeal for collectors.
But casascius (even unloaded) deserve a piece in any collection bitcoin-related.

Actually, as active makers, I consider POLYMERBIT the one that deserve a top spot.
I enjoy a lot krogoth (cypherhold) works too.
with limited mints and unconventional design, I guess he deserve an high spot in this pyramid too.

Definitely would agree the Polymerbit has been one of the most innovative with his designs and security features & one of the very few note makers in this space! You've got to give credit to Alpen of course, Kialara, bigtimespaghetti, Satori, I mean shoot there are so many to even list. I too would agree that Mojo is very under rated and there are a lot of sleepers here on his stuff! I am so mad I missed the recent squirrilbits that just dropped only yesterday and filled so fast!

I think that there is a grail piece for every maker & that is what I would love to see. It would surely be fantastic to see a type of pyramid structure, what would be even more impressive though would be to have a text book built in the fashion of a timeline that would actually represent the history of this space and show examples of coins in the order of release. What a story that un-made book would tell!

Besides the OG’s. Squirrelbits limit to 21 or less, Krogoth’s impossible to find pieces and everyone’s sleeping on MrMojoRising26’s MYBITS.

Casascius coins have to be at the top. They basically were the coins that kicked off an entire collectibles market. The 1,000 BTC loaded Casascius coin has to be the holy grail of Bitcoin collectibles. Not counting loaded value though, I’d say that this piece has a special place in my collection.

The Stone the masons rejected was the cornerstone.
Bitbills...they were the first and everyone else followed.

As for physical Bitcoin loaded coins...Casascius first batch first day loaded coins....very fucken rare and impossible to come by!

As for non loaded items...1000 BTC gold Casascius coin....for sure.

Although there are original pieces that I would love to own like Bitbills, 25 BTC Cas, 10 BTC Cas, Cas bars etc that are current outside the range of anything I could ever afford, my top dog has to be:

2013 GILT Silver 1 BTC Casascius  Grin

I do admit even those are unobtainable for most collectors, but I see them as the face of physical crypto.

A personal grail for me, would be the entire Squirrelbits collection. From the early try-outs made out of empty soda cans Tongue, to the magnificence of todays pieces.

That would be a very difficult task, but a fun one to undertake. Too many custom 1 of 1s, 1 of 2s, prototypes, raffle prizes only, 3 piece sets... list goes on and on. and no physical list to actually look at (Yoda probably has one)

I can say that I have every standard /21 release from 2022 - current, but had to bow out on the low mintage pieces as I'm just a peasant out here collecting cans for my btc.

Yeah Squirrelbits are my top collectibles

Crypto Swap Exchange
for me, the ultimate holy grail consists of collector's items that unfortunately no longer exist or are no longer 'produced', such as Casascius, BTCC or the Satori chips
i would almost count the Moonbits as well
this would be followed by active projects such as Kialara, polymerbit, Lealana, Squirrelbits, to name but a few

tread93's thread recently got me thinking that it can be difficult/tricky to know
what is what when it comes to crypto collectibles. I put my hands up to finding it difficult to
figure out some ranges.

There has been over 10 years of collectibles produced, some iconic some not so great and some
which have damaged the reputation of the makers and to some degree the space.

While IMO most of the attention goes to Casascius and Lealana, i'm not saying its right or wrong,
it is what it is. there is also big "brands" like CryptoImperator, Denarium, BTCC and Kialara and thats
just for coins coins.

Did anyone ever think of creating a pyramid shaped table of makers aimed at identifying tiers of
items worth collecting and which is higher on the pryamid than others, I know it can be subjective
but outside the 6 I list above it can be difficult to know  . . .

What everyone needs to have in their collection!
What is the ultimate holy grail

Its difficult/impossible to have everything but there are obviously items which any serious collector
will have or strive to have.
