It should be released on months or seasons with has no strong competence in the film industry. As you can see, famous movies and awaited series (GOT) are shown recently. Count avengers on, so the movie Crypto would probably have less watchers and cause a low impact on the society. If they could watch maybe because of referrals or boredom with no nice movies to watch. So these guys should carefully pick the release date or else it would go to waste.

Any info when the film will be released officially and will it be available world wide? The trailer looks so attractive, I hope it will be released soon so it can be the first Bitcoin Film and hopefully it will bring good effects to bitcoin in general. More adoption, more demands, and obviously price boost.

The trailer looks attractive, but we don't know how bitcoin is portrayed in the film. If it is portrayed with all its good and the technology making a big change, following which we can expect a bigger level of adoption of bitcoin from common people who haven't known much about it. If negative things were prioritized surely it'll be a blow to the people who have been with plans to invest on bitcoin.

This could either make or break the general overview of bitcoin to the public. Although it may provide exposure, it heavily depends on how they represented bitcoin in the movie. If they portrayed it as an illegal medium which can be used to purchase guns, etc. then the whole reputation of cryptocurrencies may be put to question.

What matters is that the exposure of bitcoin is spreading throughout Hollywood. This is a big opportunity to showcase its potential and use so that many people would understand its concept and worth to the world.

The film is the best connecting media to the common audience and "Crypto" might help to create that awareness and help to understand the technology behind it Smiley

Here's a review of the new film "Crypto" that stars Kurt Russell and Luke Hemsworth and is about Bitcoin. A big Hollywood film with big-name stars is a pretty big step in getting Bitcoin recognized globally and making it more legitimate in the eyes of the general public:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y8w2EXTKQzA&feature=youtu.be
Had you understand the movie or at least the trailer? The movie is nothing but bitcoin use as money laundering and corruption, so tell me how it will make it legitimate to the eyes by people? Oh not to mention that the trailer is boring.

It will be better if they just explain how bitcoin works but of course not in dull way. I'd rather spend my time and money to other things than to watch this.

I don't know if the people would actually really explain how blockchain and Bitcoin could work but it's a great start for the Hollywood to start and embrace cryptocurrency. But the actual movie explains how money laundering could happen behind in cryptocurrency but it doesn't explain how Bitcoin would is being used all around the world. They seem to use the title to the plot of a movie to focus more on anti-money laundering.
Since it was a hollywood movie and not a documentary then those who would watch the movie wouldnt expect an explanation of how bitcoin let alone how the blockchain works. It would be less interesting to the movie goers of hollywood movies whose attention span wouldnt allow them to get thru it til the end. Smiley
There is a series Ive heard is in production for a streaming service of how bitcoin and the blockchain was created and how it is doing now. It should be released sometime next year.

Based on the trailer, I think it will do more harm than good to cryptocurrency. It's more like that crypto is portrayed as a bad thing. Bitcoin is being used here for money laundering and other illegal activities. And we know that everytime "Russia" is mentioned, there's an automatic stigma that comes with it. Smiley
I think crypto is being use here to give "hype" for the movie. I hope they make movies that explained thoroughly how crypto can be helpful to us.

Nice one! This became more special compare to the other crypto-related movies because of the cast. Kurt Russel? He is one of the famous stars in the Hollywood and what about Luke Hemsworth? Well, he is good too (I guess he just became famous because of his connection to Chris which is his brother Grin). I'm pretty sure that crypto world will be benefited by this movies, adopters are expected to come soon.

Anyway, when it comes to the plot of the movie, I don't like it very slight because it mainly shows the negative side of crypto. Yeah! The movie flows in a positive way since the investigators fight cyber crime but what I don't agree with it is that crypto plays as the antagonist in the story since the application they focused about money laundering. Nevertheless, people can now have an idea about crypto thus resulting to a closer dream of mass adoption. Smiley

if the film can bring bitcoin to Hollywood I hope that Fiilm can bring bitcoin to my country,
there are many things that can make bitcoin accepted among the government or society, one of which is the entertainment approach such as the film. this is a very good strategy.
If crypto film can bring Bitcoin to Hollywood successfully, it would pave the way for bitcoin to be regconized officially all places in the word. Personally, a number of people who are really keen on technology films, are kind of crowed because it always attracted with something so special and be more impressive than any other kinds of film. I don't know whether or not this film can successfully inspire positive and effective action to audience, but if it's attractive, interested enough for people to pay attention to, it would be a big success to crypto industry.

I watched the trailer, the film seems kind of shit but I don’t really care. It’s cool that this is another tool to get bitcoin into the mainstream so average joe can see it.
The idea will gain interest and whatever they show from that film will only give interest to more people around, I like to see how the audience will comply and how many people will love and how will hate more, it's between still with believers and non believers to act accordingly, we have to support steps like this and be ready to whatever assumptions crowd will react.

I think it is great that they already made a film about crypto but I don't really think that it would help a lot in adaptation.
The film was about the negative side money laundering using crypto and hacking.

It's a good first step though, 5 years ago Hollywood would never make a movie about Bitcoin or cryptocurrency at all.

I don't recognize any of the actors which is why this is not news to me.

A successful film with recognized actors can help crypto  by driving adoption upwards which is something I am looking forward to in the future.

Kurt Russell is a major movie star. Even Liam Hemsworth and Alexis Bliedel are pretty recognizable actors.

Cryptoindustry made so many mistakes in the beginning that would be enough for a thriller. But I believe that the new opportunities offered by the blockchain and cryptocurrency far exceed the risks.
I heard about high project, it really changes the perception of traditional advertising for the better. Although it is not necessary to make sto for the platform to be noticed. I like taklimakan in this sense, and their goal is to teach more people to understand cryptocurrency and trade. Excellent tools, good monetization and a positive idea. STO tokens can be considered one more step forward, so that cryptocurrency is recognized worldwide

It agree, it is not obligatory to be a sto project, the main thing to have a sense of respect for users. I would prefer tokenization in key industries. For example, in education. So that students can earn not just points, but full-fledged coins and use them in the campuses  to pay for food and services. Yes, I'm ready to go and study again for that. Haha, but for now it's dreams

Yes, I understand the course of your thoughts. If the government refuses to finance the education sector, then allow the schools themselves to work for their success and use modern blockchain technologies and tokens

Unfortunately, along with projects that use the security token with good intentions, I again see startups who either try to speculate on this concept or do not understand the difference between the types of tokens.

There have been a couple of topics about it on this forum already, and unfortunately the film seems terrible. They got fancy actors to star in a typical blockbuster about good guys from the government fighting the bad guys from Russian mafia. And the key part of Bitcoin there is that it is used by the bad guys for money laundering. This is a terrible misrepresentation of what Bitcoin really is, and I hope not many people will see this film, because otherwise it can damage the reputation of a great innovation.

I haven't watched it yet,
but I see it's about crime and corruption, and involves cryptos.

I can predict that cryptos will be associated with crime and corruption, and generally portrayed in a bad light.

i am not sure why everyone is so happy about this and repeats the same thing about "how amazing it is"! maybe none of them watched the damn thing yet or maybe i am wrong!
in any case i don't find it "amazing" whatsoever. in fact i think this has the chance of being bad for bitcoin as it is also mentions all the ICO scams,... and somehow it relates them together.
besides, as far as I can remember Hollywood has never been positive about bitcoin. all the movies or TV series that i have seen bitcoin being mentioned on, it was a bad mention: either for drugs or for get rich quick!
