Any info when the film will be released officially and will it be available world wide?
It's out already. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt8563452/

I need to watch this now. I hope information related to cryptocurrencies are correct.

haha, i bet it'll be incredibly inaccurate. anything related to technology in movies usually is. it'll probably be chock full of misused jargon and won't be a realistic portrayal at all.

Hacker movies are the best...just a bunch of really fast typing and throwing in a bunch of nonsense jargon like "ports" "firewalls" and "DNS"

OMG, this will be great. Finally Hollywood is embracing the crypto world. we are talking about movies by which people even believe in vampires and ghosts. omg, this is it the world is going to be into bitcoin from now. we are going to get a huge ragging crowd. maybe this film can not make much profit but its the best action anyone can take even if it gets flopped it is still gonna be acting as a cannon. and I do not see any point of being flopped its trailer looks good.

i just hope it isn't used to perpetuate a negative image of crypto. i already know it's super corny:

Quote
Hemsworth plays a young Anti-Money Laundering (AML) investigator (is this the first movie to make one of those an over-the-top action hero?) who is stationed in his hometown in New York State and uncovers a web of corruption. Said web involves: Bitcoin, money laundering, Russians, farmers for some reason, and Kurt Russell.

The trailer’s tagline is, “Fear is the ultimate currency.”

Any info when the film will be released officially and will it be available world wide? The trailer looks so attractive, I hope it will be released soon so it can be the first Bitcoin Film and hopefully it will bring good effects to bitcoin in general. More adoption, more demands, and obviously price boost.

It came out in the US on April 12

I didn't know that crypto would be filmed. I don't think it could attract even those who aren't well informed about what cryptocurrency is but I'm sure that it will still click. It will surely bring a positive outcome and good feedback in crypto world. It's another way of educating people as well. Kudos to the filmmakers and actors.

Cryptocurrencies especially Bitcoin aren't 'pumped' because of the film, instead of the film itself being pumped because of cryptocurrency.

If you think it's a big step, you really have a bad taste. Bitcoin already big and globally available we don't need any shitty Hollywood film to promote nor introduced it. I know it somehow helps the adoption process, but I think it wouldn't help too much.

As expected 5.0/10 rating, imagine if they didn't pick the crypto niches.

Anyway good to see this. I hope there will soon be film where cryptocurrencies will be presented as a mainstream currency. It would be awesome to hear a cashier casualy saying 65047 satoshis. Smiley

The trailer looks attractive, but we don't know how bitcoin is portrayed in the film. If it is portrayed with all its good and the technology making a big change, following which we can expect a bigger level of adoption of bitcoin from common people who haven't known much about it. If negative things were prioritized surely it'll be a blow to the people who have been with plans to invest on bitcoin.

Here's a review of the new film "Crypto" that stars Kurt Russell and Luke Hemsworth and is about Bitcoin. A big Hollywood film with big-name stars is a pretty big step in getting Bitcoin recognized globally and making it more legitimate in the eyes of the general public:
