But no one was complaining when these same whales played together to make Bitcoin price go up, right?
~

Did they? It's an interesting question, because from my perspective, what they actually did was they made the price go down by selling from their stash when they saw the price was high enough. The thing is that to make the price go up you have to buy crypto with fiat, but they don't have much of fiat, they have mostly crypto, right? Why would they buy even more crypto, which they already have in big amounts, with fiat, which is what they really want to have? I think the price was rising not because of manipulations, but rather because of natural demand from the new adopters, and then it went down because of the whales' selling.

It is a game with winners and losers. Some are going to be richer and some poorer. Not everyone is going to become rich.

Mate everything is based on whales(almost) in this world. Thats the thing - if you have money you can do whatever you want, especially more money. And there is no difference for whales in market - they gain money on rising market, they gain money on falling market. All we need to do now - just fill our bags with promising crypto and just wait till they will play with each other Wink

I honestly don't think it's as simple as that. Perhaps if you're an altcoin trader (or should I say speculator) then all this makes sense to you. Price goes against you, you keep losing value, you keep depositing in more and your portfolio just keeps getting "redder".

But no one was complaining when these same whales played together to make Bitcoin price go up, right?

I think we give them too much credit. See all the volumes on trade. Look at all the conversations going on here. See all the people earning Bitcoin and spending them for pizza or whatever.

These aren't whales. Yet they're driving everything. I think 10,000 of us using Bitcoin every day is more impactful than 10 Whales moving things in one hour.

The whales of every coin controls a major part of the market situation. The same analogy happens with the coins. For instance, Bitcoin has the highest dominance and hence takes chare of the whole market. The same thing applies, whales hold the largest portion of the coin and hence can control the market with that holdings.

Market manipulations are a given, but that does not mitigate the resultant profits or losses, depending on where you stand.

Do you believe that Crypto currency based on whales . and they make market circles. they can do what ever then.
Not really about them but they can make an impact to the market.

Whoever controls the market has the big portion of money that was invested to the market and it's not only millions but more than that.

This what we are all been believing for the whales act for manipulating the market.

I believe Whales exist in crypto currency but I don't believe they have much influence to control the market as people normally thought, if much people are into cryptos, I don't think they will have any effect on crypto because anytime they sell off other people will buy them up.

I personally believe this , i think you too agree to this

- Its peer to peer currency then how come natural market circles ,

- Its an artificial things and manipulate the markets

The whales have a big chance to take control of the market because of their huge funds and they can play the market anytime. In fact, the centralized exchange site has been supporting it because the crypto are using the supply and demand to determine its value and that makes the whales have a lot of chance to control the market direction.
You are right whales know everything in advance they calmly and easily control the stock exchange and prices . We can only look and believe in the good . Roll Eyes

Indeed, the pope has the right to do so, because of his many funds. The exchange will be mastered and able to flip out the price, so we wait for the best.

I think that so far it is. But soon the exchange opens from NASDAQ and possible approval of ETF from the SEC. I hope that this will provide an opportunity for institutional investors to enter the market and the introduction of certain regulations and rules. It seems to me that manipulations will decrease after this.

These kind of market behaviour is not peculiar to cryptocurrency alone,  in every market there will be people who gain upper hand and this may be as a result of capital that they control or political power they have.  Cryptocurrency is different because these kind of advantages is open  to anyone,  no restrictions!

The situation you are talking about will materialize in the future, I'm sure, but we are living in a different world yet. As many on this forum have pointed out, we are still in the early stage of adoption, and it's natural for this stage that most of the coins are in the hands of either those who created them or in the hands of the very first adopters. We need the number of crypto users to increase 20 times for the situation to change. But don't worry, it won't take long. In the fast changing modern world I think around two years from now will be enough.

The problem is that at the same time that there will be new crypto users there will also be many rich people and investment funds that will buy cryptocurrencies so new whales will be created and we will still have the same problem.

Wrong. Why do you think it's impossible to manipulate the price of USD or Euro? Why do you think they are more or less stable during the past years? And why do you think GBP is a bit less stable, although it is still pretty stable compared to crypto currencies? That is because around 330 million Europeans use the euro every day and, apart from 325 million Americans, around 400 million use USD abroad, while British pound is used by less than 100 million. So, there is a correlation between adoption and stability of a currency.

I believe. The Whales can pump or dump a coin as they want. A 10% increase with a huge investment is a good profit for them.

Yeah big investors can manipulate the market big time because their actions whether to sell or hold has a big impact on the dump and pump of the market. If a whale decides to sell off $40million worth of btc we will see a sharp decline in the price of bitcoin and crypto as a whole and if they choose to invest the same amount we will see an increase in the crypto market cap.

Well, Obviously people with a lot of money can change the game of crypto market in seconds they can do whatever they want but they don't I think because they just don't care what is happening with the market because they are getting their profit.

You can say that about any market in any economy too though. It's always the case that in a thinly traded market, people who large amounts of supply can greatly affect the price and such. The larger the market, and the larger the volume, the less this becomes possible.

Agreed, whales are dominating. the control large volume of market circles and can cause a change. sometimes I think that a group can manipulate the entire crypto market.

The more I'm involved in crypto the more I believe that it's true. There's definitely something behind the scenes which we, mere mortals, can hardly ever see. Hope "decentralization" is not just a sound, because it's one of the most important features in crypto. It will lose its sense without it. This is one of those rare cases when I wanna be wrong)) I guess, we'll learn the truth in the nearest future, in 2-3 years, after crypto is somehow better regulated all over the world.

Well, whales for sure have their share of crupto, controlled and predictable.
But it shouldn`t mean that we, non-whales shouldn`t get involved and shouldn`t have hope to get rich.
Good traders tend to understand whales logic and upcoming moves, like "reads" in Poker.

Yes I am sure it's the game of big whales who dominates the market and fluctuates it for their benefit but we need to play smart and invest in those altcoins which is product ready and which can operate without support of crypto in future.
