Can anybody explain the meaning of this?
It means that the algorithm is prepared with quantum computing in mind.
Basically high capability ''CPU'' using brut-force won't be able to crack this coin's security.  At least that's the premise, in theory.

So are they saying Bitcoin Core is not safe anymore and the we could be losing our Bitcoins at this moment? It is like they are actually making war with Bitcoin development and saying they are incompetent fools who might be hijack any time soon. I am scared now.

Maybe yes, maybe not. But, there are more potential hundreds of cryptos in the cryptomarket than Bitcoin, while the Bitcoin is in a much higher position. And I guess the new currency that could shake it will not be in the near future.

I don't know the number but so many new coins have claimed that they are the new Bitcoin, some of them are tagged scam like Onecoin, if you can gain support and can really prove that it is really the next Bitcoin, then we are very much ready to support your platform.

i don't think there will ever be another coin like bitcoin, there may be some bad copies, btc is and it was the only one, anyway, is too soon to talk about it we'll see in time if elixxir will be successful
I don't think anyone can replace the position of Bitcoin as the king of all existing cryptocurrency, have you ever heard that the bitcoin cash rumors will replace the position of bitcoin? and until now bitcoin remains the number one of all existing cryptocurrency.

No one will replace Bitcoin, just relax. We can hope that Elixxir will be a worthy project that will enter the top 50 and people will use it.

Compare rates on different exchanges & swap.
How is Elixxir the next Bitcoin. It is more like a decentralized messaging app with DApps feature. It is a solid project though. Hope they make it work on mobile devices. Who would want to carry his/her laptop everywhere for merely sending and receiving messages.

I think I ever have heard about this information, the next Bitcoin.
Well, some developers may claim that their coins will be the next Bitcoin. They may have better technology, system, or event maintenance.
However, I'm not really sure that it will be although they say about the Crypto Legend.
It is too early, let's see how the progress of this project, the progress of the coins during ICO and after on the exchange.

None of these are the main determiner of a cryptocurrency like Bitcoin.
Bitcoin is a proof-of-work, competition-based system, to make the network super secure.

Will Elixxir be the next bitcoin?
Nope.

This thread is both hype and shills until we see it launch and test, I have seen and read so many projects claiming to be the next Bitcoin, but they ended up a lot of criticism, but on second thought if this is going to be the next Bitcoin I just hope they will not launch a crowdfunding because Bitcoin never did one, but an airdrop is acceptable.

I don't even know who's Chaum is. How many coins were created and said to be the 'next bitcoin'? there were tons of it and for sure it's going to be the same fate like those before.

i only see litecoin, monero or ethereum as potential main currencys those were always the coins that were really used. i especially like monero as anoncoin.

I really doubt the future of Ethereum. With the marketing power from EOS or TRX, or maybe even Binance Chain, they can lose easily if they don't do anything. I doubt decentralisation narrative is that much important for developers who only look for profits. Die hard decentralisation is probably a minority in dapps business.

Well it's a good promise but I doubt about it, usually when people said want to overcome or replace bitcoin will end up with another coin that got no purpose, for me it's just another coin that want to take people's attention by mention the coin ia better than than bitcoin and in the end the coin will be used for making the developers become rich

750,000 tps is pretty insane. It sounds like it's almost two separate applications. Messaging functionality and payements. How would this platform deploy dapps?

If anyone claims to have say on the 'next bitcoin' it might be someone who is one of the founders of the cypherpunk movement.

David Chaum has made some prominent moves both in the digital space and cryptography. I would be curious to see how Elixxir will play out once betatest is out

The next Bitcoin? I think I've heard that word for as long as I can remember. All new coins always say that they are the next Bitcoin but failed after they launch the project.

You can speculate that but in the end, it will just be another failed project and investor will lose a hefty amount of money.

I mean, this is so truth. All or almost all new coins say that and ends up being just a lie. It's a funny coincidence because i was with other people this morning and we got lied to a lot, pretty interesting coincidence.

Now failed or not we don't really know yet. It might take some place in the top 10 and maybe, just maybe it will stay there for a while, who knows?. The future will really tell, but i believe they do that only/mostly to profit, not really to do their part in changing the world.

Exactly, whenever I come across that phrase, I see it as the project looking to get more popularity by affiliating itself with bitcoin, and that attempt is enough to make me lose real interest. We are not looking for the next Bitcoin, but rather the next innovative technology which would improve transactions while retaining anonymity and keeping control in the hands of the holders.

I agree that a centralized institutional cryptocurrency does not have many chances to become anything, even though there are anonymous transactions there, so perhaps we should not worry about the authorities accessing our personal data with this coin. This coin does not have many chances of competing with widely accepted by the banks Ripple, and I don't think Bitcoin users will be interested in it as well. This guy developed some interesting and important ideas back in the last decades of the 20-th century but none of them became Bitcoin, and this one will not be an exception.
