Isn't this country within Russia's sphere of influence? I just hope that cryptos would prosper there and it wouldn't get embroiled in politics with the big bear. It seem Eastern and to some extend Central Europe lags with other members so any additional source of funding is great. Just don't let the ECB shoot this down, LOL.

Yes Russian influences exits in Belarus. for your attention - Since 2014, following years of embrace of Russian influence in the country, Lukashenko has pressed a revival of Belarusian identity, following the Russian annexation of Crimea and military intervention in Eastern Ukraine. For the first time, he delivered a speech in Belarusian (rather than Russian, which most people use), in which he said, “We are not Russian — we are Belarusians,” and later encouraged the use of Belarusian. Trade disputes, a border dispute, and a much relaxed official attitude to dissident voices are all part of a weakening of the longtime warm relationship with Russia - wiki

Good news for them then. It seems it's developing countries that are more receptive to bitcoins. Guess they find the possibility of more income coming in attractive. It's they that would get the most out of it anyway.

But still amount of developed countries who support Bitcoin larger than developing countries , Am I right? I think even though developing countries adapted to BTC. Due to more of their people's lack of computer knowledge will be a barrier for crypto transactions. So I think Developed countries will be familiar to Crypto first and faster, However it is a great pleasure to see countries like Belarus's nice approach to Bitcoin. more and more will follow the same path in future.  feeling relax..  Smiley

Never underestimate technology. More people have smartphones than toilets in some countries! I've seen families where each of the members have at least one but no toilet (this happens even in my country). All they need after that is just internet access and they're good to go. They can then start trading and hopefully save up.

Technology cannot be underestimated, but do the third world countries's old generation use computers or smart phones? but developed countries's old generation's computer literacy is quite better.

I am not sure how reliable this news is. In the past, I have read similar news articles about India and South Korea, only to be proven false later. But in case Belarus legalizes Bitcoin, then it will be a huge boost for the country. There is a lot of bitcoin-related businesses in the neighboring nations such as Russia and Ukraine, and many of them will move to Belarus. This will create more jobs and forex revenue within the country.

I hope this news is reliable. let see,
Isn't Ukrain already a bitcoin friendly country?  I saw somewhere Ukraine is a BTC friendly country ..

Every country who supports cryptocurrencies, whatever reason's behind, is a step toward more real decentralization and good for every single person.

So :chhheeeeer up belarus

Yes, freedom for people from centralized currencies which is controlled by 1% of the world. other 99% slaved for them. Crypto bring you some kind of freedom. That's why we love Crypto.
