Yes, Gates is just giving his opinion about people who uses crypto in a negative way that would harm some other people. However, i think there are more people who uses crypto in a positive way than in a negative way. Crypto currency was made to help people not to harm other people. Bad persons will always be a bad persons, even without crypto they will really find ways to get what they wanted. So for me, its not the crypto which will kill people but its people also who kills other people to whatever reasons they might have.

Simply crypto currency really hides financial operations, that many tops do not like. Although I do not see anything threatening in it.

Although using anonymous bitcoin to buy bombs, guns. But on the way of transporting these weapons will be discovered. Can not blame crypto will kill everyone. Crypto is only a means of payment. They do not directly cause. Personally I do not think this is true.

This is likely to happen because the market is having a lot of coin was born. And people do not know how to invest in coin to ensure that it will generate a lot of profit and this will affect the psychology of people. However, if you know how to invest, it will give you a huge profit. On the contrary you probably know what you have to do.

All has sitting there for sure but after start using bitcoin, are these activities increased? I don't think so, they have been doing as it is same only change is the currency, USD, EUR Ruble or any exchange was using before now we crypto currencies also.

weren't Bill Gates used to be so pro bitcoin and supporting it before? i don't remember what exactly he was saying but i remember it was pretty positive. so what has changed that he has changed his words from that positive attitude to this very dark one while ignoring a lot of things?!

Will this statement of bill gates is maybe have a relevant of something happen now in our community,i thinks he is right on its opinion that sometimes cryptocurrency can be use in some illegal activities,like money laundering,drugs,and the worst case of using this in buying a weapon for mass destruction or use this for financial support of those ISIS group to use in some terror act,but all of this only a speculation,and nothing proven that its maybe use in illegal activities,because its only depend to person either he use it in bad way or in a  right direction.

I mean he isn't wrong, but the same can be said about fiat as well. I'm sure criminals also use credit cards, bank accounts etc.

If you buy a gun, it won't point to someone and shoot by itself. My point is people kill people. Guns,drugs, knife or anything can be a threath to a person if it's used with wrong motives.

Sorry to say that but I think that your post is quite.. meaningless. What do you mean by "good" and "bad"? We are not in a movie, there isn't such thing as the good people on one side and the bad guys on the other!

When people are placing bombs, I think they are behaving badly. And this judgement applies to terrorists in Europe and well as to the army of European countries bombing Middle East countries.

And indeed, bitcoin, as dollars, euros, and so on.. can be used fo both cautionnable and questionnable actions!

People kill people, do not blame guns or cryptocurrency. Anything can be used for good or bad. If a person chose to use crypto or bitcoin to buy drugs or guns then it is the persons fault, not bitcoin. We should start taking responsibilities for our actions, and do not blame technology for things we've done using technology.

These kind of dirty business was running pretty much in the same way when crypto was not even in existence. After crypto came into existence, it just provided a different method to finance such things. The span and scope of such businesses didn't change, just expanded the payment method.

So it surely depends on the people who are using cryptos. These kind of dirty business will go on. Even if crypto got banned, they will continue the business with fiat. Nothing will change.

So it is not correct to term it as "Cryptocurrency kills people", it is a very negative term and not theoretically right. If this is the case, then it is also right to say that " fiat kills people", which is actually not. We need to change the way we look to cryptos.

There are few very good comments in this thread, its interesting how far can some people go, I expected more from Bill Gates! I saw that article this morning and after few lines I stopped reading! Headline intrigued me, but after reading first lines "Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates, whose recent takes have included that Apple should just build a backdoor into the iPhone because the government might demand it anyway, is now warning that cryptocurrency is killing people." I was like wow is he work for that government now? His statement is ridiculous, I wonder what was he thinking about?
Some people don't have what to do then they blame crypto for all problems in the world. I believe that we had many discussions about it here on forum, just idiots can see this article and believe in what Bill f. Gates said. He who made billions on technology said so stupid things in one interview, I'm a bit shocked. Who knows why he did this, and what can be his long term plan? To be against crypto? Maybe he feel jealous because he isn't creator of crypto?

This is on to a degree. The whole point of crypto is to not have to trust that the money you have coming to you wasn’t blood money.  Well fuck that’s a little hard next to impossible. Eventually all cryptos except for those in long term cold storage will be “tainted” if you will.  What we must focus on as a human race is not giving too much hype to those that have more than others.  We have to learn to work with each other not against. Even FIAT money can kill people if you use it to fund terrorism and purchase guns for bad entities. Any currency whether FIAT or crypto can be used in illegal activities. It's just that bad people are taking advantage of the anonymity of cryptocurrencies. That is why some countries are banning crypto specially those cryptos that are decentralized just like bitcoin.

Government should not focus on these disadvantages when it comes to crypto. They should look at the brighter side of this new technology that we are in right now.

The mere fact that trading platforms and exchanges asks for validation of identity before we can transact or exchange our bitcoin to any currency to protect each country from using bitcoin as a vehicle to money laundering.

I know this totally defeats the purpose of DECENTRALIZATION and  ANONYMITY but its the only way that the government can monitor illegal activities and the only way that they can tax people who's hoarding lots of cryptos.

If we believe in this technology we should be vigilant enough if we can spot someone doing illegal activities using Bitcoin or any other cryptos as a scheme to scam or destroy humanity.

in some sense, cryptocurrency kill people is true, its for those who bought much cryptos early and earn much profit from it, and they may like those who won a big prize from the gamble, then they will do nothing but just enjoy life, then they are dead in some kind

From a different point of view Cryptocurrency can be use in an illegal and an ill mannered way that sometime may cause certain abuse to the society, In my opinion some criminals can use Cryptocurrency for the transaction of funds that they can use for illegal ways, And on the deepweb, the transaction can be use in illegal trafficking and the government can not detect their whereabouts because of the security of every Cryptocurrencies, There are many issues involving its use.

Although rigorous management processes will be put in place, a thorough understanding of a virtual type before investment is still required. For example, try to not fall into the command line is hiding in the market.
