Goodbye, Z.
No, there are some server issues and the connection for some users is rather slow, but the site isn't fully down.
Might be connected to Cloudflare, the issue's being checked right now, everything should be back to normal soon.
Indeed. The issue is related to Cloudflare. Not only crypto-games.net but lot of websites using their servers like localbitcoins are facing issues at some functionalities on the server side. Apparently,Cloudflare had a scheduled maintenance for servers in a specific region and sites depending on those servers were throwing 404
Whenever a limited group of users from a similar region experiences troubles and things are running fine for others,
Cloudflare is the most likely culprit.

Goodbye, Z.
So it's possible that the fork will get delayed and will not be ready on the 25th of October?
Yes, it's possible for further delays to happen.
Whether this affects the actual forking point, or just the release to the public, doesn't seem decided yet.
E.g. they could still fork at the 25th, premine empty blocks for a while without replay protection, and start transactions on the new network once the protection has been merged.

Also, seems reasonable to put an announcement on hold until these things are all cleared up, besides it's probably going to be very similar to what happened with the previous fork.
To be honest, things are pretty different.
BCH had a clear forking date a long time prior to the fork, it has working replay protection, and the network was open from the beginning for both users and miners.

Kinda silly though that you guys have to do all that additional programming
It's one of the things taken into consideration, the cost/benefit factor.

if this was a one time thing, okay... But how many of these forks will we see after this?
Maybe a lot. Maybe just a few. I'd seriously doubt that's going to be the last one.
Imo this depends on how Gold gets treated on the markets.
If gold dies down quickly and fails to get market support, that might deter future forking attempts.
If it however maintains itself and manages to keep some value, who can tell...

In the next time, we'll possibly see another split very soon between legacy bitcoin and segwit2x bitcoin (currently being handled as BT2).
That is, if 2x still intends to proceed with their hardfork to 2MB blocks in November, despite the vocal protests from the community.

There's no such thing as a deprecated coin.

If a website stops supporting a coin I call it deprecated. If you understand what I mean.

Anyway, thanks joter for answering me Wink

Question: there is been a leftover rain of a deprecated coin on site.
It's been quite hilarious tho.
Question is: why?  Roll Eyes

Because RainBot still had some balance left and value of those coins increased.

Another thing currently lacking in their code is two way replay protection,
something essential for any fork to avoid replay attacks and problems with transactions down the road (which would include distributions by CG and other sites).
The current status is, replay protection is a WIP right now, and will be done before the launch, which would be postponed if it's not ready in time[4].

Taking all these things together, there's still a lot of if's, when's and maybe's. Some of those might change heavily and rapidly in the next days (at least this is my assessment).
I wouldn't expect an official announcement from CG before all important aspects are fully cleared.
This includes a firm forking date (block or timestamp), a binding statement about any premine, as well as working replay protection.
As long as these things aren't checked out, the decision about if and how CG proceeds regarding BTCGPU might still change.

I'd expect them to handle the fork similar to Bitcoin Cash, and proceed with distributions, as long as the circumstances allow it and a distribution seems reasonable.
