Would love to see what the movie/documentary will unveil about crypto and possibly how it's going to revolutionalise the future. But why coming from cryptopia, we all know how bad they have failed as an exchange. That's a horrible name to give to the movie considering the dent they have created in people's mind.

I believe the producer/director didn't do their homework or maybe doesn't have a clue about the difference of blockchain and internet. Though its true that there are some key blockchain innovations designed to improved internet functionalities such as file storage, messaging, etc., but it wasn't designed as an alternative to internet or much worst act as its replacement.

~snip~

If only they knew whatever happened to Cryptopia back then,  I'm sure they would have gladly change the film's title. Grin

I see he didn't do his job, he probably just wanted to have a good excuse to raise money through Kickstarter.

I think proof of that was the rewards you could get if you supported the project, all of them silly.

Well sounds good from the non-crypto audience,  Cryptopia from the world cryptocurrency and utopia.  We just have lots of hate because of some exchange named cryptopia, so instead of realizing they wanted to convey cyptocurrency utopia to the audience, we who knows Cryptopia exchange, saw it as dystopia.

Nevertheless, it is an interesting documentary even with the hated people by the community is on the list of people who will give their pov and experience towards the subject.

I can always wait for that time if such video will be shown and released in the internet. I hope those bitcoin enthusiast will give only a positive input about bitcoin. I also haven't had a chance to watch the previous film Bitcoin: The  end of money as we know it. But i took a glimpse on it's trailer. They have managed to produce such high standard film.

I guess the new film will also explained the pattern of this technology aside from hearing some comments from some of those bitcoin enthusiasts.

I am very happy to hear this news because in Australia they make films about bitcoin. Actually, I also really want to watch this film so that I can know how bitcoin plays in this film, but unfortunately I can't come to Australia to watch the documentary directly because I don't have extra money. I hope they are interested in this film to learn about cryptocurrency and bitcoin.

They should rename their documentary title, i was thinking it's made by "Cryptopia" exchange Tongue
But the producer/director forget that Blockchain currently runs on top of Internet, which makes the part of synopsis sounds ridiculous :

Can this technology, designed to operate independent of trust and within a decentralized network, really provide a robust alternative to the Internet as we know it?

I can't wait to see this film. Finally, there is a film that is about Bitcoin and the future of technology. We have been waiting for a film like this. Of course, there was a film that Bitcoin is in it but that film didn't explain and give detailed information about Bitcoin.

I'm puzzled by the excitement by some people here  Cheesy
I'll probably be watching the film a month or two after it's release if it won't cost me a cent or sat.

When I also read the title I thought this thread is about the Cryptopia exchange and their comeback.
Of all title in the world, they could pick the worse they can think of but not the once that brought bad luck already. But I'm hoping though that this documentary will also make people learn bot just bitcoin but cryptocurrency in its entirety. If those interviewed guys pay certain amount to be featured in the docu, then all these will just be another BS.

Woah. I opened the thread to see what does the old & dead Cryptopia exchange tells about .. the future of the internet?
Strange name indeed. But I am looking forward to watch the documentary and, obviously, tell others about it  Wink
Same here bruh! I opened the thread thinking that Cryptopia is back may be with a new and revamped version but found it's something totally different.
I wonder why the term 'Cryptopia' got in there at the first place as it has nothing to do with the documentary. They could have easily come up with better terms or may be they didn't do their research well with the term 'Cryptopia'.

I hope that documentary will be comprehensive enough to tackle  other crypto issues such as crypto security, government regulations, scam projects defrauding people with their hard earned money, etc.,  and could also give us more useful insights into this industry.

At least I'm hoping it will be projected in a balanced and objective point of view so that maybe people will hopefully one day would consider adopting this emerging technology.

i could have gotten excited if the list of those appearing in the video didn't contain Roger Ver and Vitalik Buterin. i really don't think these people understand or even care what bitcoin is all about. they have proven that they only care about their own power in the scene and the money they can make from the "hype".

I wouldn't want to see them either, but the author is probably an outsider to crypto, so we can't expect from him to know all the nuances of crypto community. Let's just hope that he won't give any exposure to Craig Wright.

oh shit, i didn't even remember Craig Wright! more like out of sight, out of mind as it seems like these days the drama with this scammer has ended and he is now a footnote in the history of bitcoin as an idiot who tried to fool others but failed Tongue

i should also have said that this video has Andreas Antonopoulos which should automatically increase the quality of the final product by a lot.

yikes, not loving the name. "cryptopia" doesn't have the best connotations around these parts given all the people they left high and dry.

it doesn't look super interesting either. andreas, samson mow, charlie lee.......i'll be amazed if it's not like every other documentary that came before it.

How can someone do a documentary on crypto and then not google the name of their film just to see if it was used before by anyone? And f they did, how it didn't cross their mind that it would be confused with the infamous scam exchange? Perhaps the author's target audience is non-crypto people who wouldn't know about it, so they won't notice anything.

The title was good except for the word Cryptopia. Me and my friends have been a victim of cryptopia and up to today we still cannot withdraw our funds. There are many complains against cryptopia but we have no choice but to wait. I do hope they remove the word cryptopia from the title since it will create some misunderstandings and criticism. But looking at the speakers I am sure that this documentary will be great except that I hope they remove cryptopia from the title.

Of course, who wouldn't want to miss this documentary? At least it will be a breath of fresh air from the thousands of crypto influencers on Youtube. But I would agree about the catchy title though, and perhaps it was really intention to catch the attentions of non-coiners.

And I'm not surprised that they choose the perfect venue, Australia, as we all know that Australia is one of the friendliest bitcoin countries out there.

I have seen a lot of documentaries and this one is going to be one of the best documentaries about Bitcoin and Blockchain, I hope it will be seen in the public preferably on Youtube, we need a documentary from time to time, as condition of adoption in Cryptocurrency is changing rapidly and every year there is a new milestone happening, if we have  one each year we have a chronicle of what happened in a given year.

It's interesting to see efforts made to discuss cryptocurrencies to the general public. That's why I'm really positive about bitcoin's success in the future years or even decades. We are step by step, closer to a world who has adopted bitcoin to be accepted as a method of payment. We are still in the early stage, more technologies would still develop in different aspects including modern payment methods. It's not quick, but at least we know that it's getting more relevant in the current age.
Indeed, it keeps on improving despite of some issues and problems bitcoin had faced through the years. As it keeps on getting accepted by different countries, a lot of people are getting curious about how bitcoin works. A documentation would help to make people analyze bitcoin main purpose and how we can use it particularly these days that some business already use bitcoin as a payment. I'm not familiar with it but i'm excited to watch it because I know that it can help me and it will enlighten me.

Woah! I really thought these people and the film was associated with the recently closed NZ based cryptocurrency exchange "Cryptopia", except I realized this documentary is going to be held in Australia.

They should've picked another title for their film. Anyway, It's good to see more documentary and films that tackles about cryptocurrency and Bitcoin, as it helps widen the adoption and recognition globally.
